Ive been in scouts my whole life so ive owned many difrent knives, this I have to say has been the best one yet, Ive cut wood, rope, cardboard, cloth and some copper wire with it and it takes it all. The shieth is a litle hard to deal with since its designed for a military type uniform not jeans and a leather belt, so I took all the velkro of and just tuck it under my belt with a cord around it. The knife overall is just great. It feels great in the palm and ive put it through some good back country back packing tests. Sheath is amazing and versatile and the field sharpener comes in handy and helps you should some ounces off of your carry weight. Very pleased for the price and quality of the knife, can't beat the sale price. Definetly would recommend this knife. Must carry, must have.Customer Review: Solid knife

The destructive test on you tube really sold me on this knife. I like it a lot but if I had to complain, I'd like Gerber to come up with a stronger plating process. The black finish on this blade starts to rub off after maybe a dozen insertions and removals from the sheath.
Not a big deal as it's stainless but it would be nice to see them use something similar to what comes on Glocks.

This is one sturdy knife. I was able to split wood with ease and still hold a good edge. IT has a good weight and comes with a great sheath, with its own blade sharpener.
The hammer edge also comes in real handy. Have not tried tying the knife to a stick but its a great option in a survival situation. Paired with a fire steel fire starter, makes the pair a great survival kit.

This knife was purchased to be my "survival" knife. The Quality of this knife is great; if you do a search on this knife you will see it can go through a pretty good beating. The price and the quality of the knife and the Gerber name is what made me decide this was the survival knife for me. If you decide on this particular knife you will not be disappointed!
