Tools and Hardware Reviews of Gerber 22-01629 LMF II Black Infantry Knife with 4.8-Inch BladeCustomer Review: Perfection with an edge Summary: 5 Stars
I love this knife. I spent the last quarter century bumping around remote locations in Alaska sleeping on the ground, mushing dogs and hunting and fishing at every opportunity. During that time I've bought dozens of knives looking for the perfect utility knife. If they'd made this one when I started, I'd have never had to buy a second. It's sturdy, nicely balanced with most of the weight in the ample grip, the serrated section of the edge is actually long enough to be useful, and the straight edge takes and holds an edge nicely. About the only thing I wouldn't do with this knife is fillet fish, because the heavy blade is not particularly flexible. On the other hand, a stout blade is perfect for just about anything else. I suspect I've found a companion for life. This knife is going to go everywhere with me, with the possible exception of commercial airliners, and that's not by choice. In Alaska anybody who gets on an airplane without a sturdy knife is a damn fool.
Customer Review: good knife Summary: 5 Stars
i like this knife. i say this knife is even to my Smith & Wesson CKSUR4 Homeland Security Top-Serrated Tanto Knife (my opinion). i bought that knife from amazon also and reviewed it.
the pros are that it is super sharp, full tang, nice rubber handle, knife stays in sheath even without button straps heck they dont even need straps i held the sheath and shook the hell out of it to see if the blade slips out but it never did, can mount/attach anywhere, knife sharpener is apart of the sheath.
Cons (my opinion compared to my smith and wesson), i wish the blade was half inch longer, the blades thick but the smith and wesson is almost half width thicker, i wish they made a tanto tip not really a fan if drop points, has two button straps dont know why its a waste of fabric and a snap button to me.
but all and all its a good knife and a good buy and i carry this one and my smith and wesson when i go camping.

Customer Review: Great Knife!!!!! Must Have Summary: 5 Stars
This by far is one of the best knives on the market. I have been in debate about this knife over the last 6 months or so. I needed a good strong knife for search and rescue operations so after looking at all the knives on the market I decided to go with this one and I am glad i did. For starters the knife itself is very strong with the thick blade. The sheath is top notch and the knife is very secure in it. The sharpener that is intigraded into the sheath is a added bonus and works great as well. Great tactical knife as well for someone that is involed in search and rescue a Must have in or on your gear. Another factor for me was that a guy on [...] did a review of this knive and he did a series of test and it past no problems it did finally break the tip anyway after it was put in a vise and pressure was applied over and over again very impressive, if you go to [...] type in Gerber LMF II test it should come up.
Customer Review: Pretty rowdy knife! Summary: 4 Stars
This knife is great! I first purchased the SOG seal pup, which I liked other than the zytel handle, but once I found out it was made in Taiwan, i just couldn't keep it. So many things now you can't get made here, but a knife isn't one of them.
I read reviews on this thing, and by first glance it looks like a workhorse. HEAVY. Much heavier and beefier than i expected. but I think it will grow on me that way when i don't have to carry an axe too.
I love the options with this knife, the holes for fashioning a spear are cool. Hammer end works really well. The sheath gives many options for carry, almost too many. Parts of me love it and some think there are just too many options which leads to parts of it getting in the way. you must unstrap much of the sheath to use the sharpener, or to be comfortable using it in the sheath as a hammer.
Very Sharp I thought as well.
