I purchased this when it was on sale for just under $50. After reading all the reviews I gave it a shot. I'm perfectly happy with it. There was no odd smell with my unit as others mentioned. The legs are quite sturdy. And the faux leather looks ok to me and should be durable enough for this as a sitting bench in my mud-room for putting on shoes. The only comment I have is the inside of the box is not fully structural. There is a solid bottom but the side "walls" are just fabric over the frame. It is plenty sturdy though for me to sit on. The only thing I did was change the included plastic feet to some rubber ones so it wont slide. Inside, it holds 4-5 pair of mens shoes and some odds and ends.
