Customer Review: Hmm, not bad but could have been perfect

The good things about this motion activated light is that it picks up the motion. It is not too bright and not too dim which is a problem I have with a lot of night lights. It could have been a tad brighter though, since I do not feel like I can maneuver comfortably in the dark while this night light is on. I like how it fits flush against my outlet, which makes it look more like a security motion detector. The cons:
1. It uses a photocell, so when the sun is going down and the room is still partially lit, this night light flickers on and off as you walk past since your shadow activates it. So it is trying to fight between the motion detector and photocell. I once had a $5 dollar photocell nightlight that smoothly faded in and out based on the amount of light was in the room, too bad this doesn't do the same as it is annoying to see it constantly flickering.
2. For some reason it doesn't always turn off 40 seconds after last motion, a lot of times it turns off immediately after it cuts on. Not sure what that is about.
3. It has a long range in front of the night light to detect motion, as I plugged it into different outlets and it was able to detect motion from over 20 feet away. However it would have been great if it detected motion from the sides, since if you place it in a small area like a hallway, it will not turn on until after you have walked passed it into the dark, basically lighting the area behind you.
4. I use the Kill-A-Watt meter to measure how much energy all of my electrical devices use, and this night light always uses 3 watts. I have tested other night lights, some that are way brighter than this one that use less than a watt. However I am sure the motion sensor is to blame for that, but I was going to buy more night lights like this one, but due to the nonstop energy usage I do not plan to buy any more.
