Customer Review: Two bulbs broken in shipment

Amazon made good on the breakage. The bulbs arrived smashed because the vendor removed two bulbs from a six pack to make this four pack.
If I knew the problem had been resolved with the vendor and would not reoccur I would buy another 4 pack right now. The bulbs throw off nice light. Because I do not care possibly to file a complaint again and receive a charge back on my credit card I'll either wait until it becomes clear these bulbs are arriving intact for others or pick them up at a store.

I have no problem with the bulbs, but they were shipped loose in a box with some Fill-Air on top. Needless to say, many of them showed up in pieces. Broken glass was falling out of the boxes as I picked them up. Not good. I assumed they would be in clam shell packaging like the ones you would buy at Home Depot or Lowes, but that's not the case. It'd be easier to just go to Home Depot or Lowes and pick them up. That way you'll know they're intact when you get them.

I bought this particular pack of 4 lightbulbs on Jan.30th of 2008 for use in our kitchen (a room where the lights are turned off and on frequently and sometimes left on for extended periods of time.) Here it is almost a year later (Jan.18 2009) and they are still just as bright as the day I put them in. Haven't seen much difference as far as the electric bill goes...but I have definitely saved a few bucks not having to buy lightbulbs every few months!Customer Review: reasonable fluorescent bulbs

They take a second or two to turn on, but once on give off a nice warm light. I have had no problems with flickering after about a month of use. I also purchased the 'cool white' variety (which are harsh and much bluer), and highly recommend the 'soft white' over those. If fitting them in a fixture keep in mind that these bulbs are slightly bigger and squarer than normal incandescents (however the 60-Watt version is much much tinier).Customer Review: Just OK

These work pretty well, but they are MASSIVE. They're probably an inch and a half longer than a regular lightbulb and thicker as well.
Depending on what you're going to use these for, you need to keep their size in mind. If you are wanting to replace regular bulbs in an enclosed fixture with a globe or dome, for example, be sure there is plenty of space in there before you buy these.
