Customer Review: Not the brightest bulb in the bunch

The only thing going for these (as opposed to other CFLs) is their form factor- very small. However, they are very slow on the brighten-up. So much so that I had to replace all these I had installed (except for one fixture, where no other CFL will fit). The Sylvania brand is brighter at switch-on, and also cheaper (purchased at BJ's),than these bulbs.Customer Review: Both bulbs blink

With my first N:Vision bulb, it started blinking after it was on between 6 and 12 hours. I returned it to Home Depot for an exchange and the same thing happened. I tried two fixtures with no luck.
When it blinks, I can turn the lamp off, then on and the blinking stops temporarily.
N:VISION clearly has a quality problem.

Switching from incandescent to compact flourescent bulbs is a significant energy saver, and long-time money saver. These minis are great because the base is small enough that lamp hasps which won't fit over base of regular compact fluourescent will often fit over these. Not a lot of light, but only 13 watts of energy burned.Customer Review: Inconvenient usage

These bulbs take 1-2 seconds to turn on and then a few minutes before reaching maximum brightness. I've seen better performance from other brands.
EDIT: Found a great brand. Go to Home Depot and there you will find N:Vision brand fluorescent light bulbs. They are instant on.

These bulbs are rated 8000-10000 hours, as good as brand name and more expensive ones. I have installed 5 of them and they look good so far. I'll definitely stock up these bulbs and swap out all of the remaining conventional and more energy consuming bulbs.
