Tools and Hardware Reviews of Gorilla Glue 50004 Adhesive, 4-OuncesCustomer Review: One Tough Glue Summary: 4 Stars
Pros:
-Really tough glue
-More flexible than super glue
-Waterproof
-Works on many surfaces, metals, wood, ceramics, some plastics, etc. Best for wood applications.
Cons:
-It expands, drips and produce tiny bubbles during the drying process. This is my biggest gripe. Definitely not for repairing your Lladros or others applications that require hairline precision.
-Glue is not clear but yellow. Very noticeable, not good if you really want a clean finish.
-Make sure you really clean the tip of the bottle or it will be hard to open and use it the next time
-Expensive
Customer Review: expands, be careful Summary: 4 Stars
Works ok, maybe a step down from the 2 part jb weld.
BE CAREFUL. This stuff expands like crazy. The lady at the hardware store I got it from said she glued her dining room table back together upside down on the floor, and ended up glueing it to the floor. I glued a plier cushion handle back on. The excess oozed out, which I was able to cut off with a knife. JB weld won't cut off with a knife, so you know it dries softer. The handle is still on, even after getting super oily multiple times.
Customer Review: Better Than Superglue! Summary: 5 Stars
Much better than superglue you buy at the grocery store!
To get it open you'll need a sharp pair of scissors or good knife as you have to cut the tip off then put the cap (on the side) on top. And a tip to make it last longer, when finished squeeze the bottle until the glue is almost at the tip (to get the air out), then put the top on. Then put the entire bottle into a ziplock bag so to keep all the air out as the air will try it up.
Customer Review: Not a strong glue Summary: 1 Stars
I've used this glue a number of times over several years. I've followed directions and it holds a little. A good example is I attached four wooden dowels with screws and Gorilla Glue for a drapery rod. It held as long as no pressure was put on the joints, but after a couple years I took it down for drape cleaning and a joint failed. I've experienced other failures like this in the past. I'm getting rid of the remainder.
Customer Review: Very good Summary: 5 Stars
The product is good and will last long if you take care of it. I wish it was a bit less expensive for what you get, however since we do not use glue that often, it lasted us for at least a year.
To keep the glue from drying out i recomend getting all the air out prior to closing it and then put some scotch tape over it and keep it in a ziplock bag with no air inside.
