I used this stuff to tape down carpets, and on unpainted, porous wood. It is amazing how well it sticks. It is quite thick and strong also, but you can tear it like duct tape. Only thing I couldn't stick it to was a dusty metal surface, and I didn't expect to anyway: it just picks up the dust. Once clean, that metal surface gave ultimate adhesion. I have used Gorilla tape for the last 3 years for holding insulation on outside pool pipes to keep them from freezing. Gorilla tape is by far less susceptable to ultra-violet degradation than duct tape. After about 1 year duct tape falls apart in direct sun-light. So far the Gorilla tape is holding its own after 3 years! I would strongly recommend it!Customer Review: This is the best tape ever!!

I bought a small roll of this tape awhile back from the store. This is some STRONG tape. When i bought this off from amazon I didnt realize it was such a big roll (my bad) but its going into my survival pack anyways!!! Gorilla Tape is more expensive than regular duct tape but has higher tensile strength as well. I've used it with much success to tightly secure a water heater jacket to the water heater, and most importantly of all, to repair the low-quality leather on my shoddy but comfortable office chair.Customer Review: Sticky, smelly

Highly effective, very strong adhesiveness!
It loses a star for the awful smell. I was wondering "oh my God what died in the walls" before I realized it was the tape. It does limit the potential uses of the tape as you wouldn't want to have it near food or your person.
