Tools and Hardware Reviews of StoneTech BPSS12-32 BulletProof Stone Sealer, 1-QuartCustomer Review: Saved my Investment Summary: 5 Stars
This product is a god sent!!! I just had my Giallo Ornamental granite installed about a month ago. I noticed a stain after a few days (my wife spilled oil on the granite) after the installers left. I was sick, thinking my granite was ruined. I purchased the Oil Stain Remover, (Tech EX6-16 1-Pint Oil Stain Remover for Natural also from Stonetech) also for sale on Amazon, to get rid of the stain. Once I removed the stain I sealed the granite with 3 coats of the Bulletproof Stone Sealer. Once I was done treating my granite I tested an area by putting a good amount of water and let it sit for a few hours. To my amazement, the water pooled up and sat there like a waxed car and never was absorbed!!!! This product actually works :)
Customer Review: Good easy to use product Summary: 5 Stars
After doing my research I purchased this to seal our granite countertops as a good comprimise between cost/performance. I applied by pouring a little at a time onto the counter and then spreading/brushing with an unused paint brush. I let it mostly dry and then went over my counter a second time just to make sure. Not 100% sure how well it penetrated the backsplash or edge (vertical surfaces) as it is pretty runny. However they are not the surfaces you are primarily concerned with anyway as liquid won't pool on them.
One note - it did seem to haze the clear caulking around my backsplash slightly. It mostly went away after a couple days so i think it was mostly me just noticing moisure buildup on/under the caulk.
Customer Review: Easy to apply, lasts reasonably long Summary: 5 Stars
This sealer was fairly easy to apply (no tiring rubbing needed). Six months after the initial application it seems to have done a good job preventing any stains or discoloration of the granite countertops it was applied to.
Update: after two additional repeat applications this sealer continues to perform well. It has also done a surprisingly good job resisting any staining in the granite sink which is subject to daily use, and various dishes left to dry/soak on a regular basis. The sink does require slightly more frequent reapplication, however protective qualities are impressive. I have upgraded to 5 stars based on longevity and effectiveness specifically in the sink.
Customer Review: Works very well Summary: 5 Stars
When we had our kitchen redone with light-colored granite countertops, apparently the granite sealing was not done properly. We soon noticed that rings would develop if we left moist items on the granite. My wife bought a spray-on granite sealer at the local hardware store and it was absolutely worthless. I researched on the internet, bought the "Bulletproof Sealer", used it as directed, and it's been great. Water beads on the surface of the granite, no more rings from moist items, and we've stopped worrying about permanent discoloration. The quantity in the bottle is HUGE for a regular kitchen. If we reseal once a year we'll be dead before it's used up! Highly recommended.
Customer Review: Granite counter top sealer Bulletproof works Summary: 4 Stars
After having granite counter tops (honed black) installed in March 2008, we were told that after 6 months we needed to "re-seal" the granite to resisit staining. After much research and trying to find a "green" product, BullerProof was recommended to us by our installer as his recommendation and what they used in their shop. It went on so easily and with no offensive ordor. It now is back to where it was when it was first installed, resisting stains and water penetration.
