I have three of these and am ordering some more. They work very well as night lights - not too bright but just bright enough to see the floor, stairs, etc. They are very good in a power outage, creating even a brighter light. I also like that they are LED, so I don't have to worry about replacing a bulb. Finally, the flashlight is also useful when a flashlight is needed quickly. It doesn't replace a larger flashlight, but is good for looking under beds, and such.
Highly recommended.

Small & practical, worked like a charm for the first blackout & a couple other times I used as a flashlight. Next brownout I noticed it didn't light up, went to try & it only worked as a flashlight. Saved it in the junk drawer at least for that use, but by the end of the week it wouldn't work at all anymore, even though I tried recharging it. It's a good concept, but useless if it only works for a few weeks. If it's bad batteries, I'd rather have something I have to put my own instead of this junk.Customer Review: Nifty, but haven't used it in an power outage yet

This is a handy little item, though I would recommend trying to buy it in a store as the shipping jacked the reasonable price of 12 bucks up to almost 20! Of course you could always, and should IMO, buy more than one. UFO-like design really impressed my 5 year old son and bumped the Pokey Little Puppy right off his nightlight throne. Haven't had the need to use it in a power outage, yet, but I have no doubt it'll beat rummaging around for candles and matches.Customer Review: It does what it sets out to do perfectly

This little nightlight/emergency light combo sounds like one of those cheap "as-seen-on-TV" products that rarely work as advertised, but it performs magnificently. We get a lot of short power losses during summer storms and high winds and this light has come in handy several times already. It makes a perfect gift idea for anyone not stable on their feet or capable of blundering around in the full dark of an outage at night.Customer Review: Excellent nightlight, flashlight, emergency light!

I bought 5 of these and put them in each of my kids' bedroom, our master bedroom and also the basement. Not only do they work great as nightlights but during power failures, they provided very adequate lighting (as emergency lights) to allow us to move around the house. Best is that you can unplug them and use them as flashlights. Only reason I gave them 4 out of 5 stars is that the whole unit covers the extra power socket.
