Tools and Hardware Reviews of LED Night Light, Quantity 2Customer Review: Light-sensing LED night light is the way to go Summary: 5 Stars
These night lights have 2 main features:
- LED lights are sufficiently bright while consuming very little energy.
- Photo-sensitive switch turns them off during the day or even when you turn on the 'big' lights at night, ensuring that they are not annoying.
By the way, the 'blue' statement is not entirely accurate. Think of a steady neon light. It is a little bluish but I would call it 'bright white' more than 'blue'.
I've had one of these for about 2 years now as a freebie from my company's Earth Day giveaway and I've been pleased enough with it to order one extra pair.
At the time I am ordering, the vendor offers free shipping which makes the purchase a lot more attractive than otherwise.
Note - May 4, 2009
Other reviews noted that the lights dim over time.Since I recently received a brand-new pair of this exact same model, I can now compare it with the 2 year-old night light.
Without applying any scientific measurements I will say that the 2 year-old light is about 1/3 less bright than the brand-new one. It's still bright enough for me to keep it where it is so, after 2 years of nightly use it appears that it stayed bright enough to serve its intended purpose. I would expect it to last for at least 2 more years if not longer.
Customer Review: Beautiful bright color Summary: 5 Stars
These lights are great! They offer a beautiful tint of blue that illuminates the surroundings without blinding anyone on their midnight runs to the bathroom. Not only do they offer beautiful color but it costs you firtually nothing to operate them. I've owned similar lights (perhaps an ealier version) that was not as bright, didn't have such a nice tint of blue but could be plugged in upside down on the wall socket (these are designed better and won't allow you to do that). If you have a white wall, these will make your room look very beautiful. Trust me, these are the best night lights you can get. A++
Customer Review: Great small LED night lights Summary: 5 Stars
I bought these last week and came a few days ago so shipping was fairly quick. They do give off a nice blue glow, but not as bright as the picture shows. Its a bit less bright than your standard candlescent night lights. However, the sensor on these are properly designed so it actually turns off when its bright, dims when its dark. Since these are leds, they are either on or off. My old automatic night lights keep flickering, which caused its own early demise (two of them). I just wish they made a two or three led night light in a small package.
Customer Review: Short lifetime Summary: 1 Stars
I bought about 10 of these, and they get gradually dimmer until after a year or so they are not useful. GreenLite replaced them at first, but the replacements did the same thing, and now they are refusing to replace them. I do not advise buying these, and I am suspect of other GreenLite products as well, based on how they treated me.
See for yourself in the customer images.
I'm trying the Meridian brand, which are 4 for $5 at Wal-mart.
Customer Review: very dim and not reliable Summary: 1 Stars
I think LEDs are great... they consume very little power and SHOULD last a long time. That has not been my experience with these. I purchased a pair of these a year ago. One stopped working entirely after 3 months. The other started out adequately bright, but quickly dimmed to a mere fraction of a lumen... bright enough to locate the light itself in a dark room, but not bright enough to illuminate any surrounding objects.
