I did not buy this product from the main Amazon seller. I use it on my large older refrigerator in the lunchroom at my business and I noticed my electric bill went DOWN! So then I got two more to use on my washer and gas dryer. At first I was skeptical, but now I am convinced that this handle little "green" device lowered my electric bill! I will be getting more for my other large appliances! Note: I think the people who did not have success with this did not follow the instructions because they did not have instructions included with their purchase and/or they used it on an already "high efficiency" machine (recently manufactured with the "Energy Star" seal). Mine was sealed brand new in the original package and came with written instructions. Before you buy, confirm with the seller that the one you are getting comes with instructions!Customer Review: Long time use of Greenplug with old fridge

I started using the Greenplug with an old fridge back when it first came out, both the plug and the old fridge have run quietly together for many many years (10+?). I put it on another old fridge and metered it and it draws less volts and watts but runs a longer cycle - but thats what it is supposed to do - like driving a steady 50 rather than 75 and then braking!Customer Review: going green

I inherited my parents 1976, avocado green JC Penny's side by side refrigerator. When they owned it they had to have it serviced nearly every three years for defroster coil replacements. When I got it, in 1991, I stuck it in the basement (cause the wife hated it) and use it as a second frige. At the same time I connected up the Green Plug to the Frige and we have not had any problems since. It does run a little quieter, and cycles on more. The frige and freezer seem colder even though its thermostat is turned down or up. As old as this frige is, it's a power hog. This Frige has been move thrice and keeps on cooling. I think this little device save a little on the power consumption and contributes to the frige's longevity. When we buy a new frige now, they are now more energy efficent than 10 years ago.Customer Review: Doesn't Last Forever!

I've had the Green Plug on a 1988 refrigerator/freezer in my garage for 10+ years. Unfortunately, when I returned from a deployment following Hurricane Ike, I found all items in the refrigerator/freezer rotted, having been at room temperature for at least 3 weeks! I pulled out the unit, removed the Green Plug, plugged the unit directly into the outlet and it has worked fine since then. I just wish there had been some way for me to have known the Green Plug was about to "give up the ghost!"
I live where summers are Hot~ 100+ degrees~~ So, my garage got really hot many days. Even at that my power bills were somewhat less than other homes around me of like size. So, I know the Green Plug worked!! Now,I find I cannot get another...boo hoo, I would still purchase another one!
