No idea how it does for pecan pickup. But it works great for picking up ammo brass. My new range requires you pick up all spent brass. After two trips picking up brass as long as shooting, I looked for an alternative. This is it. I've only tried it on .45 brass. Works great on that. I'll try it on smaller casings later, so can't comment on that. But if you're a .45 shooter and are required to clean up your brass, this thing is the ticket. The guys at the range loved it. Suspect I'll be seeing more of these next time I go out to shoot. The mfg should be marketing these to gun supply houses as well.

We bought this Pecan-Picker-Upper for my father-in-law. A tree that drops tons of acorns onto his lawn and walkway each season is his greatest scurge, so we thought that this picker-upper would be useful and worth a laugh even if he never used it. It works well, but seems to work best for just quick pick-ups on a short walkway and such. It isn't a great tool for cleaning up a whole yard full of acorns. Too slow and tedious. But since this gift was meant to be more for laughs than anything else, Dad really enjoyed it.Customer Review: A Back Saver

We bought one of these for ourselves to use. The children even had a contest to see how many they could pick up in an allotted amount of time. A great way to get the pecans picked up before the squirrels get them.
We also gave one to grandmother who has had back surgery before. This makes it much easier for her to pick up the pecans at her house without the added back strain of bending over.

This is a very handy, usable item. The only problem I have found is that once in a while a pecan will not go all the way through the coil leaving an opening which allows smaller nuts to fall back out. This is a small irritant which is quickly fixed. I would not have been able to harvest but very few of the pecans on my property, due to a back problem, without this handy device.Customer Review: Slow... but it works!

I used it for the first time today to pick up acorns in my yard, and I am totally impressed! I gathered 30 gallon full of acorns without breaking a sweat. Just gently tap on acorns to collect, and dump the acorns in a bucket once in a while. Compared to raking, this pecan gatherer doesn't seem to save much time though. But, it definitely takes much less efforts.
