I read the bad reviews before I purchased this product but I couldn't belive that the remote would not work how the manufacturer promises. The product claims to work up to 100'. Sure enough, when I first tried it, the remote only operated it from 3' away!!! I immediately called Heath-Zenith and spoke to customer service. They said I needed new batteries. These are not common batteries and took going to 3 stores to find them. When I replaced the baateries, The remote now has a max distance of 5' if I am lucky. When I called customer service again, you could tell by the tone in their voice that they get this type of call all day long and don't seem to care one way or the other. Retun it, keep it, get another one, who cares. So much for turning my pond lights on and off from inside the house.
