Customer Review: Easy to use and works well.

I was a little cautious before I bought this product. The reviews kind of scared me off. I had bought it to plug two lamps into (using an extension cord) but ended up plugging my Christmas tree into it first. Now I have to buy another one for my lamps!
Okay here is my review:
Pros:
1) EASY to setup. Really can't be easier. The transmitter (light switch) needs a 9-volt easy to put in.
Plug the receiver (outlet) into an available outlet in your house. Turn switch on - it works. Very easy to setup.
2) They come in different channels. Now Amazon doesn't give you a choice which channel your unit will be on when you buy it (This is a con) but there is the opportunity to buy locally and make sure it set to different channels. So this is a pro because the product is available in different channels (just not through Amazon.)
3) Did I mention it is easy? It works well, no worries at all.
Cons:
1) This is an Amazon con, not a product con: Can't choose which channel the unit is set to. Mine was set to channel 'd' when I received it and I see no way to changing channels. So if you want to use only one of these, buy this one right now, today. If you want to use more than one and don'e want everything going on/off with only one switch, buy locally and make sure they are on separate channels. I am only using one now, so not a big deal. If I want a second one, I'll have to buy it locally.
2) The transmitter (light switch) is thicker than I would like it to be. It also didn't come with any way to mount it. There are two holes, but no screws or adhesive tape to mount it with. I took off 1 star for this reason. They should have included some double sided tape or something to help you mount it. Not a deal breaker, but it bothered me.
Summary - It is nice and easy to use. If you only need 1, then get it. If you need more than one, get it locally so you can buy choose which channel(s) to get. But you can't beat Amazon for the fast shipping and easy returns.

Mostly assembled.If you want a outlet you can turn on and off with a switch (for a lamp, for example) but are uncomfortable doing your own wiring, Heath Zenith offers you a simpler alternative in the SL-6136-W. Just mount the switch and plug in the receiver and you're done-no hardwiring required.
This set gives you up to a 100-foot transmission range, and can be used with up to 500 watts incandescent or 300 watts fluorescent lighting. Note that you will need to supply a 9-volt battery for the wireless switch.--Josh Dettweiler
