First i Thought i had a bad one...
Alright, So I just went and it TURNED ON! WooooW! It works.
Not so bad...
If you get this and make sure after you get done using it you turn the temp ALLL the Way Down, And let it Run for a Minute Before you Turn it Off.
If you don't let it cool off it'll probably not live so long.
I took off the black plastic on the front cause it served no purpose and made the thing stay hotter.

the first unit arrived and the heat indicator lamps did not come on.
on first use of the replacement unit, after about ten minutes the fan stopped. the heat was set to fairly high and did not go off. some smoke. i assume there is a safety thermostat that would have kicked in, but without the fan the coils glowed for a while.
it may be a bad batch - but there seems to be no quality control at all.

Good quality with attachments for just about anything you need to do. I haven't used it for large project where heat gun would be worked for hours a day, but numerous small projects where gun was used for several minutes at a time, have been accomplished without a hick-up. Good value product, worth the money spent. As usual, AMazon service was great!Customer Review: Good Tool for home use

The Hot Air Gun was lightweight, and did not feel uncomfortable. I had no issues with the gun shutting off due to overheating, and I had it running on the highest setting for several minutes. Make sure you plug it in to a outlet that is not very busy.
All in all it was a good purchase, and hope to get more use out of it this summer.

I've had this product for about a week now and I'm very happy happy with it.
I bought it mainly because it is much cheaper than comparable products from B&D or Dremel and it hasn't let me down. Works great for stripping paint and using heatshrink on computer power supply cables.
