Tools and Hardware Reviews of Duracraft DT-75 Personal 2-Speed Fan

Customer Review: A great little power house for your dollar
Summary: 5 Stars

I've owned 2 of these little fans and I can barely complain about it. For the price, its a powerful, quiet, durable and reliable personal fan. I've dropped it or knocked it off my desk repeatedly and it still runs perfectly fine time after time. Its also very quiet for the amount of air it pushes.

The only slight complaint is a 3rd setting for a lower speed would be nice. Like I've said this is a powerful little fan. I rarely find myself ever needing more then the low setting and even then I find myself aiming it off to the side some to reduce the air hitting me.

Customer Review: SMALL BUT POWERFUL!
Summary: 5 Stars

If you need a small fan for a small space, this is the perfect choice. I needed a small fan for my kitchen counter which is not very big so the fan had to be compact and still provide a good breeze. This Duracraft fan fit the bill perfectly. It took up very little counter space and so far I have only used the low speed setting. It blows a strong, cool breeze on the low speed. The high speed is great if the fan is going to sit a bit further from you, but I have it close to me on the counter so I don't want it blowing too strongly on me. I'm very happy with this little fan.

Customer Review: Easy Knob Fix
Summary: 5 Stars

I found this fan during a building demolition five years ago. Cleaned it up, put it on my desk and it has been running since, it is only turned off to clean it. Had trouble with the slippery knob so I drilled a hole through the nose of the cone and put a two-inch long piece of plastic tube (similar to a cheap ink pen cartridge) through that. Now I can adjust the speed with my back-scratcher:) I also discovered that it operates better with NO lubrication, I took it completely apart, wiped the shaft and bushings dry and it ran better than ever.

Customer Review: Agree, great little fan
Summary: 5 Stars

Also have had one of these for over 5 years. I expected it to be an average appliance. While it is, of course, just a fan, I have to say I have been year after year amazed that it does such a great job moving so much air, so quietly, for such a small fan. It is very light, simple and has a nice stable base with low center of gravity. Only drawback is it is not adjustable - only one position. I am writing this review because I need another fan for another space and am happy they still make these! Wow, a company name that is apropos! Duracraft.

Customer Review: Cheap and poorly designed.
Summary: 2 Stars

I bought this fan for my desk at work. It moves air just fine, but it's very cheaply made. There must have been a part loose in the fan because the second I turned it on, it started making a rattling noise--nothing too loud, but just loud enough to be irritating. The placement of the control knob (on the front) is also poorly thought out. Because the fan isn't very heavy, I kept knocking the fan off the table when trying to turn it on.

Returned for a refund. I'll probably just buy a cheap old fan from Walgreens instead.
