Customer Review: Perfect for Large Bedroom.

This is my second Honeywell Brand HEPA air purifier. The first one i have is in my living room and is not the SilentComfort series. This one, the 18155 is SO MUCH QUIETER. On its highest setting its a little bit lower then the noise my new dishwasher makes. That makes it a little loud for sleeping but its tolerable. The system i have come up with is to have it run 24/7. During the day and evening before i go to sleep its on HIGH with the bedroom door closed. At night when i am sleeping i put it to MEDIUM, with the door still closed, and its much easier to deal with. You will notice a change in air quality within the first 24 hours of use. You can smell the difference in the air. I suffer from SEVERE allergies and this unit has made my nights so much better. My quality of sleep has improved drastically. This is a great purifier for the money. You can certainly spend hundreds of dollars on an air purifier. We didn't want to do that. This one seems to work very well. I find the pre filter in the bottom catches most of the dust. We've had it in our son's room since the fall, and his allergies seem much better. I can't really tell if the HEPA filter is actually catching anything. I think it's collecting on the inside, so you can't really see it. Another plus is that you can actually vacuum out the filters a few times, and don't have to buy the expensive filters several times a year. It is a bit loud, which doesn't bother us. We sleep with fans on or a white noise generator anyway. When I say "loud", it's not an annoying noise. It's just a constant rush of air, which for me is kind of nice. I'm just about to purchase a second one for our bedroom.Customer Review: Clean air?

Hi, I have had this item for only a week. My allergies were kicking my butt every morning I woke up. My eyes were watering and burning every morning I woke up with the weather changing. I don't have these air purifiers in my room because they are bigger than I thought they would be. I have two in my living area, (500 sq ft.). They are about 2 feet around. Pay attention to the dimensions of the product if you are concerned. They don't give off a cool draft, like it says. The low is very quiet. With tv noise on you can't hear the noise. Medium and high is kind a loud for everyday use. After a few days of constant running I woke up with no burning and watering eyes. I still take my allergy medicine, but it wasn't working for my eyes. These air purifier did the trick. I hope they continue working well.

Great product. You can really feel (and breathe) the difference in the air when you turn this on in a closed room, although I use it with the door open, too. For allergies and asthma, with its HEPA filter system (doctors I've spoken to recommend HEPA as the best filtration system for these problems), it has made a big difference for me. I had an older model that made a louder, harsher noise. Even on high, the sound from this model is still balanced enough so that it does, as others have commented, create a pleasant white noise effect. Note that it is fairly large and heavy, so moving it around from room to room is not impossible but a bit of a hassle. I haven't yet had to clean/replace the filters, since it's still new. But I like that there is a filter indicator on the unit so I don't have to remember when to do it.Customer Review: Great choice of a permante filter for Mexico City

The power consumption is not too bad.. I measured it this morning and its like 90W / 55W / 45 W
The lowest mode is really silent and works like white noise which is great.
I didnt believe much that the air would feel fresher but it does... in a couple of hours all seems much colder and breathable
Love the fact that the HEPA filter is permant
Price is more than great for its characteristics
Size is huge...really, take that into consideration because its not very discreet in the room
Only thing that is ridiculous is that Honeywell insists the filter should operate 24h .... this might be a good idea for your room but not for the environment, especially if you are not in your house for hours during the day.
