I received this safe today and immediately opened the package. I followed the instruction and could not open its door using the password provided in the instruction. I thought maybe the batteris were drained, and replaced them with new ones. But the provided password still would not work. I then decided to use one of the keys coming with it to open it. Sure enough, the key opened the door. I then tried to follow the instruction to reset the password. The reset button is supposed to be located inside the door next to the lower hinge. I was surprised to find a quarter-inch hole there. No button! It is clearly defective. I had no choice but to return it. Customer Review: Great safe for the money

We're required to lock up our checks, so we needed a safe. This was one of the most inexpensive with most features and best reviews. So far, so good. It works great and is small enough that I can find different places to bolt it down. Customer Review: Caution - this safe is NOT fire-proof!

When entering a search on Amazon for a fireproof safe, the Honeywell #2050 is the first one to pop up. Wrong!
It is NOT fireproof. It is only anti-theft. Based on the assumption that the fireproof feature was a given, we ordered two for our married children. Needless to say, both had to be returned. Surely Amazon could fine-tune their search results more effectively.
Note: The low rating of item determined by it's failure to meet our expectations which were based on Amazon's representation.

Bought it as a gun safe and it works great for that purpose. I fit six handguns in it! A much better value than similar sized "handgun" safes. Can be bolted to the floor or wall for additional safety. The fit and finish is nice and it works just like it ought to. Very happy with my purchase.
