Tools and Hardware Reviews of Honeywell Fresh Breeze Tower Fan with Remote ControlCustomer Review: Great fan Summary: 5 Stars
I always thought it was a great idea to create a fan using a squirrel cage design. Well this fan does exactly that. There is a stand base that is removable (the picture shows it attached but you can take it off to drop the fan down about 12 inches). It is quiet and works great.
I love the simple features on this fan, it shows the temperature and the speed that the fan is blowing on the top LCD. It has breeze settings which I used once when I was first playing with it and then never again. It also has a remote control which has remained firmly attached to the top of the fan in its cubby since I first put it there.
On low and medium speeds the fan is quiet. On high speed the fan is noisy, but I don't know if modern science has a way to create a fan that doesn't make noise when its moving a lot of air; maybe if they used submarine propeller blades?
Customer Review: This fan BLOWS! Summary: 4 Stars
I bought one of these fans locally and I liked it so much that I ordered another one from Amazon.
Here are the pros and cons as I see them.
Pros:
1. It pushes a lot of air - I can get a nice breeze from as far as 25 feet away.
2. It doesnt take up a lot of room.
3. It is not ugly like many fans are.
4. The remote control with flashlight is a nice feature even though I rarely use it. For the person who complained about one LED being burned out straight out of the box. Only one LED is for the flashlight. The other is for the remote control functions and doesnt illuminate.
Cons
1. The breeze feature is kind of annoying because of the fluctuation of the noise level.
2. You have to hold the remote in a specific postition to make it work. If the fan is oscillating, its hard to find that position.
Customer Review: No complaints out of the box Summary: 5 Stars
Instead of typing out a perfect paragraph, I'll just list the good points:
Easy to set up
REmote works well...except when it's moving you have to wait till it's pointed at you.. :)
nice looking....remove stickers
quiet
blows hard (sounds like a negative point, but that's meant to be positive)
smooth oscillation
user friendly operation...read the manual
no real complaints out of the box...we'll wait til we've had it a season.
small footprint...go with the tower, and not the round ones !!
I'm giving it a 5 because it was a decent price and it's nice looking and so far, it's working well.
***update***
Product still working without problems. plenty quiet..remote still works...oscillation works great... we like it because it's low profile and fits with out furniture.
Customer Review: Just another disposable fan Summary: 1 Stars
Bought one of these new on a clearance sale and the oscillate function didn't work out of the box. Honeywell (actually a company called KAZ that must have bought rights to the Honeywell name for consumer goods) would not fix it and when I attempted to disassemble it I found that I couldn't get to the oscillation mechanism leaving me with a broken fan. I was also not impressed by the rickety stand with just a few plastic prongs and one screw holding it on.
It's sad too because I'm sure if they'd spent another $10/fan to design and build it properly it would be a fine product as it really pushes the air out. However as it is the build quality is quite poor and I suspect even a good one is unlikely to last more than a season or two before something breaks. Mine's probably going to the Goodwill and I'll be shopping elsewhere for a fan, sorry.
Customer Review: Best fan I've had Summary: 5 Stars
After going through a few duds, I bought this fan two years ago. Over late spring to early fall, we have it on pretty much non stop whenever somebody's home. It still performs like new - very quiet and no wobbliness despite being on "oscillate" constantly. We also really like the breeze feature. We thought at first it was overkill that it showed the temperature but now we find that feature very useful, it's helpful to have an objective reading of the temperature. We haven't used the remote much but it works very well. And I still don't know what the ionizing function's for and don't really care.
One thing to note - you need to clean the filter every once in a while. The fan was getting louder, but became quiet again when we used our vacuum hose to clean the filter on the back, there was a lot of dust and cat hair stuck there.
