Customer Review: This Humidifier Kicks Butt!
Summary: 5 Stars

I have had a variety of humidifiers over the past several years, and this one far out performs them all. We have a big old house with a furnace humidifier that is inefficient because we use the gas fireplace in the living room to minimize the furnace from running except at night. We run this humidifier in our dining room, but can't even hear it in the next room. Even on low, it can pump out enough moisture to actually make our first floor humid! We can also tell that it is also making an improvement on the second floor because our house plants are doing better. Even though it is early in the season, I am sure we will be pleased in the dead of winter when dry air issues are at their worst! The only bad thing I have to say about this unit is that no matter how careful I am to seat the water bottles in the base, I have to readjust at least one of them to get it to drain fully.

Customer Review: humidifies just fine, but a pain in the *** to fill it
Summary: 3 Stars

Classic example of function following form. The designers were compelled to make this humidifier rotund and swoopy, but in the process made the water chambers impossible to set flat in a sink for filling. There is no way to balance one of these, aside from holding it upright with one hand while running your faucet with the other. Then it's a delicate balancing act to turn off the faucet while holding multi-gallons of water. Unless you have three hands, it takes practice to do it without spilling, and this design defect could have been avoided. Do yourself a favor and buy extra filters and a humidifier water treatment solution at the same time as you buy this humidifier. Don't be deceived by the Honeywell brand name. It's made by Kaz, like many other brands of humidifiers. BTW: it IS noisier than some humidifiers, but not excessively so given the area this machine can humidify.

Customer Review: Think first
Summary: 1 Stars

Consider carefully if you really want the maintenance involved w/ this product. We have a filter mold within two weeks of night-only use! I contacted the manufacurer, who indicated that we should empty the water each morning. and fully dry out the filter every day!!!! Also, we should boil the water or use distilled. It is MANY gallons and this is completely infeasible! To replace the filter every two weeks is cost-prohibitive. The care and cost associated w/ this product make it an unreasonable option for those looking for a basic vaporizer for a child's room. We never review products ... but wanted others to know!!!!Honeywell HCM-6012i QuietCare 11-Gallon Console Humidifier with Air Washing Technology

Customer Review: overall very good with a few glitches
Summary: 4 Stars

I bought this two years ago, now entering the third season of use, overall it is much better than the countless smaller cheaper humidifiers I have bought over the years. It is fairly quiet and puts out a lot of humidity. However I do find that the tanks started leaking after a while (I mean when I fill up the tanks, they drip heavily as I carry them back to the humidifier, which tends to get the carpet a bit wet). Also, and I think this is true possibly of a lot of humidifiers, the filter really only lasts about 3 or 4 weeks before needing to be replaced. The humidifier just starts becoming ineffective after only about 3 weeks (and since the filters cost about $10, that isn't very cost-efficient), and needs a new filter to start pumping strongly again.
however I would overall recommend this.

Customer Review: No more sinus infections, but not perfect
Summary: 4 Stars

This humidifier was recommended by an allergist. It is the reason I no longer suffer from sinus infections. You want a cool mist humidifier to keep your nasal passages moist, so they don't become dry and cracked.
Everything that other people have mentioned are true - you go through filters too quickly and it requires maintenance. Kind of a pain, but for me, it is well worth it. We looked at those expensive "air washers" because they don't need filters, but they are not recommended by the allergist. We sleep better and you can feel the difference in the air. At times the noise bothers me, but if you keep it on low, it is not that bad. If you like white noise while you sleep, it is great. We also seem to have less problems when we keep it running all the time.
