Customer Review: DANGEROUS DEFECTIVE PROBLEM!
Summary: 1 Stars

I've owned this for a little over a year. I was quite pleased with it until I noticed that my electrical outlet had black around it - I pulled the plug and saw that the plug was melting - causing it to short. - I blamed the outlet - only to find another outlet making hissing/sparking noises shortly thereafter (and more melting)- the problem is the plug becomes warm - either by being close to the unit when on, or from electrical resistance - this warms up the rubber/plastic separating the prongs - causing the less electricity resistance - and voila you have a potentially lethal problem. Even with the unit off the plug will continue to spark/short/melt. Don't know why the circuit breaker didn't blow - it must not be enough to trigger. Buyer beware. I'm contacting Honeywell today.

Customer Review: It is trash, and tough to recycle.

I bought two heaters two winters ago and both would turn themselves off after a few seconds. I called KAZ, the manufacturer for Honeywell. They had me cut off the power cord and the casters and mail them in for two replacements. I don't know if they would have sent the replacements but for the two follow up calls. All told, it took about two months to get the replacements. At that point, winter was largely over. The replacments were this newer model. One works great, but the other fails exactly as the older model did, by switch off as soon as the room temperature registers. So out of three heaters, one worked. That's a 25% function rate. I decided I would rather wear a wool cap to bed than try again to get a functioning heater from this company.

Customer Review: Slow to heat in cold weather
Summary: 3 Stars

Why do they make these things to run at 1500 watts? Because thats the only way they will heat up fairly quickly! In my house 1500 watts trips the circuit so I have to run it at medium (900 watts). When my apartment is 50 degrees in my 12x15 room it takes three hours to get it to 62 degrees and simply won't get the room warmer. The digital temperature display is a nice feature. Also the unit has no smell. It will heat my daughters 10x12 room, but still takes too long. These things need a 600/900/1200 watt setting. My smart meter says I'm really burning the watts with this thing on at night.A fan heater to warm up the room fast, then use this type seems the best option. I can't use a fan forced due to allergies.

Customer Review: Buy something else
Summary: 1 Stars

I've bought three of these. The first one just didn't work. The second one developed some kind of unhappy electric burning smell after about a month. I took that back before finding out what was melting inside the unit.

The third one "worked" but here is the problem: the thermometer is poorly placed. It reads the temperature right off the fins of the radiator, so it thinks that the room is 80 degrees when in fact it might be only 70. So unless you have the temperature cranked up to 85 (it's highest setting) the unit keeps turning off and it's difficult to maintain an even temperature.

I have had much less expensive units that do a much better job of providing heat.

Customer Review: Fantastic Value Heater, Works very well !
Summary: 5 Stars

Purchaced this heater to heat my workshop. Tested it out the first week in my home in a cool Bedroom. The heat is even, and the unit is easly set up. The Digital controls are simple to operate and have worked as advertized without fail. The one hour to 18 hour automatic shut off feature is nice for over night warmth that shuts off by it's self in the morning. In my insulated 10 foot by 16 foot shop it warmed up the area well and keeps the whole room at a comfortable level even on freezing days. It also is nice to set it to a lower temperature setting just to maintain the shop above freezing when i'm not working there. Overall this is a Very Good Heater that I recomend.
