Tools and Hardware Reviews of Honeywell Low-Profile Silent Comfort HeaterCustomer Review: Quiet, Even distribution, but a little slow Summary: 4 Stars
This is the same heater that Consumer Reports rated highest and a best buy. Actually, CR rated a different model (HZ519) but this is exactly the same but has knobs not digital controls and is half the price.
Works great. Bought 2. keeps a 225+ Sq. Foot room (9 foot ceilings) over 70 degrees with the outside temp. under 32 degrees!
Very quiet...silent!
Takes about 2 hours to bring it from 55 to 70 so it's a little slow!
Customer Review: Best I've used so far. Summary: 5 Stars
I have two of these units and I leave them on 24/7. I keep my thermostat between 63 and 65 and my house stays so warm. I keep one in the basement and one on the main level. Never had a problem until 5 years later when it just died. Now I'm buying another one. These are the best. They are so quiet and heat up a room nicely. Never hot to the touch and I don't have to worry about the dogs knocking them over because they are so low to the ground. Good buy!
Customer Review: limitations Summary: 3 Stars
I called the company and they said this heater cannot sit on anything except a bare floor or tiles due to fire hazard relating to the low profile.
It is absolutely quiet! And for that reason, I am afraid I will forget about it and leave the house w/out turning it off.
For my house it is too long to fit in most places and yet it can't heat a very large room. So knowing what I know now I would not have purchased it.
Customer Review: So disapointed Summary: 1 Stars
After reading the reviews on this product I thought it would be a great space heater for my apt. I couldn't have been more wrong. It barely gets hot - even on the highest setting - and gives off almost no heat!!
Perhaps mine is defective or got broken during shipping, but it was a huge waste of money. I have had to go out an buy another space heater already.
It is so frustrating. One word - don't!!
Customer Review: Great Summary: 4 Stars
We decided that it may be less expensive to use more localized heat source for the common areas of our home. I can't say if my energy bills will be less but I'm very impressed with this unit's ability to heat. It keeps our living/kitchen area perfectly warm without using the gas furnace. I'd give it a 5 star rating but it makes an annoying ticking noise. You only notice it when it's very quiet but it does get annoying.
