Just received, easy to use and set up! There is another version, same price, that Amazon is selling - this seems to be the more deluxe of the two for exactly the same price. I purchased the extra doorbell set, which I can choose to program with the same or a different chime. I will be purchasing the Honeywell Motion Detector and the Honeywell Wireless Door Contacts after the holidays to expand my little wireless alert network. I like that it has the option of expanding. Both of these devices can be programmed with this Wireless Doorbell Chime receiver. This unit also comes with the option of using a blue strobe light with or without the chime. And each device that is added can have its own chime if you desire. I've only had it a day, but so far it exceeds my expectations! Takes an additional 4 "C" batteries which are not included. The battery for the push bell is included. I'm happy with my purchase!Customer Review: Feature set is good, but beware of range claims

I purchased this unit because of the 450 foot operating range claim. It will not even reach 100 feet for me. I tried fresh batteries in both the button and the chime. I tried a little repositioning. All of my efforts were without success. When you read closer about the range claim of 450 feet, that range is for an open field. My application required the chime and the button to be placed 4 walls and about 100 feet (at most) apart. Through experimenting, I found that this distance was about 15 feet too far apart for this unit to function. I expected obstructions would cut down the range a bit, but not by over 75%.
Other than the range issues, the unit is attractive and easy to use. The blue flashing light is very bright and has the option to be turned off for those who might be annoyed by it. The selection of possible chimes is more than adequate. Installation of the unit is very basic.

I'm doing a remodel and had all the existing wires exposed from the old system. I didn't 'NEED' this but am elated over the purchase. The old system's AC wiring, bulky voltage reducer, and hundreds of feet of wires are GONE.
Range is a complete NON-issue as the system has been working 100% without problems.
I'm purchasing two more of these, one for the garage and one for the backyard. Volume has been turned down compared to the old system and wont wake the baby. Ring chime has been changed so the dog does not bark when someone rings the bell (Povlav defense).
The old doorbell system was an irritation. This is pleasant.
I have no idea why this is currently priced cheaper than the Honeywell RCWL300A1006 Premium Portable Wireless Door Chime and Push Button as this model is obviously a higher end/more option/longer range item.

The chime requires 4 C batteries that it does not come with. It also has a DC power receptacle, so if you buy a correct transformer - you may be able to plug it in and not fuss with the batteries. (this, of-course will result in decreased mobility). I like the light option - if you have a baby or someone sleeping in your house and you are trying not to wake anyone and still know when people are at the door. You can position the chime someplace where you can see the light and make sure you don't leave your visitors waiting at the door while keeping the house quiet.
Chime sounds Ok, but my unit makes some kind of buzzing sound when it chimes. I suppose it comes from the vibrating plastic cover. Not a big deal, but I would have expected not to have anything vibrate or rattle for this price. That is why I give this unit 4 stars instead of 5.

I have a cape cod style house (not huge) with aluminum siding, and I have tried 6, yes 6 different brands and prices of wireless doorbells and none worked properly once mounted on the metal covered door frame. Until this one, that is! Finally, someone got it right-and in a lot of ways. The entire unit seems very well made and is not bad looking, and a bit smaller and slimmer than others I purchased. It has the bright blue strobe light warning option if you have hard-of-hearing residents or just want some quiet time. Great product-if you've tried other brands and found that they just didn't work, try this one-well worth it! Batteries are easy to replace, and common 1-lithium coin and 4-C alkaline. It's also expandable if you need that option.
