I bought this mainly to augment my pre-installed doorbell which I could not hear whenever I was out in the shop. This unit is portable and notifies me of someone at the door with a loud chime (of my choice) and a flashing light as well, which is pretty handy as my shop tools get pretty loud at times. I only have a complaint that my customers must choose from two doorbell buttons to reach me. I solved this with a sign, but I intend to figure out a way for both systems to work from the same button.Customer Review: Loud, Easy, Reliable

Took me longer to get it out of the package than it did to get it working. Plop in the batteries (4 C and the included little round battery), read the instructions quickly and listen to the different ring tones. I'm leaving mine set to max volume because of the size of my house but it would startle you if the remote is too close.
This is my second wireless doorbell - the first didn't work. As much as I like it, I'm now looking for one to which I can download my own ring tones.

These units look and feel like they are well designed and made. I went ahead and installed two push buttons in the parking garage exterior entrance to the building, being wireless is a little early to tell if the electronics are going to hold up here in Miami with all the humidity. So far so good, the housing as well as the push button housing appeares to be solid much better than the Ace Hardware units I had installed before which both failed. I seem to be the only person so far with a poor review but I bought this because of the stated range, 450ft, but it will not even make 100ft! This is a huge disappointment as our driveway alone is almost the 100ft so the only way the unit will have hope of working is if we leave it outside the house which is totally not practical because its totally useless if you are not at the front of the house to hear it. The range on this should definitely be changed to 100ft max.!Customer Review: It dings! It's mobile!

We needed the variables offered by this doorbell system: 1) it's loud enough to be heard throughout a house that also has two offices; 2) we can tote it out to the back yard and still be able to respond to someone at the front door; and 3) when my wife is doing interviews on the phone we can set the doorbell to silent and still be able to respond to the front door because of its flashing light feature. The selection of tones and the volume control are nice, too.
