Tools and Hardware Reviews of Honeywell RTH230B 5-2 Day Programmable ThermostatCustomer Review: Great product, easy to install & program Summary: 5 Stars
I bought 3 of these, and very pleased with item.
After quick review of instructions,
installation and programming was easy.
I paid less than $30 each for this item, and
they will easily pay for themselves in a matter
of a couple of weeks, up here in the northeast.
Note: I replaced 3 old mechanical 2 wire thermostats.
Customer Review: Money saving thermostat Summary: 5 Stars
The Honeywell RTH230B was a very economical purchase which is meant to save me money and still be comfortable and warm or cool. It is well made, easy to install and I am satisfied that I will be able to keep my electric bills down. I replaced the old thermostat in my apartment with this Honeywell and I know it will be worth the relativel small expenditure.
Customer Review: Good review Summary: 4 Stars
Chose this thermostat because it was one of only two recommended to control our pellet stove. Once programed, it appears that if you want to override the programed temperature, you can only do so for a 2 hour period. For example, if you will not be home for a day or so, you can't over ride the program to stay at 60 degrees for that time period.
Customer Review: Works great and saved a lot of money Summary: 5 Stars
I got this for $20 a couple of months ago and so far it works perfect. I have had no issues. I don't know if there was a difference in my electric bill but it definitely made it easier to monitor the temperature of my home. A couple of days after I got this I was at walmart and I found this exact same model for $40 so I got it for half price.
Customer Review: Works OK, but there are better choices Summary: 3 Stars
Easy to install and works well enough, but the ergonomics are a little crufty (press two buttons *exactly* at the same time kind of stuff). You also have to remove a flimsy plastic non-hinged cover to change the setback times/temps, and that'll surely get lost or broken someday. I prefer the Lux units (TX500 or TX1500) in this price range.
