I recently purhcased a new home with 5 heating zones and manual thermostats. I replaced them with 5 Honeywell RTH6400 5-1-1-Day programmable thermostats. I have not been disapointed. The termostats were easy to install, easy to program, and keep exact set temperature. The learning feature is a big plus, it automatically increases the temperature to the set temperature at the time you set it for, no more waiting. Large display also a plus for old eyes. All five working perfectly after two months.Customer Review: I Love This Product

I love this product because it was easy to install. I had it up and running in 15 minutes or less. The programming is easy and accurate and the unit is small, neat, and compact. I don't have to keep adjusting my t-stat now, I can just program it and forget it. When I go out of town all I have to do is hit hold and set the temp. that I want during my leave. When I return all I have to do it hit the schedule button and it resumes the schedule that I programmed. Awesome!Customer Review: Works like it says...

It works like it says. However, the install wasn't an easy 15 minutes as advertised. It took well over an hour. And the instructions weren't very clear. I thought I had it installed correctly, but then realized when the thermostat was on AC mode, hot air was being pumped through the vents. I toyed around with the wires and figured it out.
My one main complaint is that there is a loud clicking from the thermostat when the air unit turns on and off.

I just wanted to comment on some reviews of this thermostat. Some reviewers state that to get the backlight to come on you have to press a button, and by pressing that button it changes some settings. I just piddled around with my unit, and have come to the conclusion that if you want the backlight on, just press either the "up" or "down" buttons. Pressing either one of these will make the backlight come on, but will not change any settings.Customer Review: well worth it

I installed this unit back in September and it has saves about 27% of our normal heating fuel usage compared to the simple mercury switch unit it replaced. if only I had taken the plunge a few years ago I could have saved $1000's just for spending $70. It is intuitive if you want the temp to be 69 at 7 am and it is currently 64 at 630 it will start up ahead of time so when the desired time hits it will be the temp you specified.
