This is the third thermostat I bought. First got a White Rogers which was cheaply built. Then got a Lux which read the temperature inaccurately and didn't work. Both were difficult to wire and the manuals were bad.
Finally bought this one. The internal mechanism makes it a breeze to wire. I agree it is confusing to program, particularly compared to my last Honeywell (it gave up the ghost). Once you have it set up however, it is great. WORKS!
Man, we need to move manufacturing back into this country!!!! Tired of wasting time and money on cheap imported junk!

I love my new Honeywell! It does exactly what I want it to do and it is so easy to operate. Plus, it looks pretty cool on my wall. I had heard how easy it was to install, and it was easy(ish) but no cake walk. The biggest problem I faced was removing my old dial from the wall, matching up the wires, and then installing them properly into the new thermostat. The wires didn't exactly match the instructions so there was a little trial and error before success. I haven't received my first full gas bill yet, but I'm hoping that I see a little savings. I definitely recommend this product!Customer Review: programming difficulty

Easy to install and programming buttons are easy to understand. It is the display that is difficult to understand. Be very careful about the check mark before the days of the week. When you make a temperature input it will apply to EVERY day that has a check mark and erase what you previously inputted. You have to cycle through the days twice to eliminate the CHECK marks for the other days to enter in data for just one day.
There is room on the display to show you all your heating or cooling temperature settings for each day of the week, but they neglected to provide this so it is very difficult to review your inputs to be sure they are right and to correct for CHECK mark errors from above.

This thermostat was very easy to install on my system. I have a propane gas furnace and an electric air conditioner. Setup was easy and it works great. Just set up you desired temperatures and it does everything else.
