I just received my new RTH7600B about a week ago and I am very happy with the unit's performance and easy set-up it. The menu is easy to navigate and the settings are very intuitive. I read all the other reviews before ordering this model. I have not had any issues with programming the unit or with loud clicking sounds then the thermostat activates the heat or AC. I have a central air and heat pump set up at my home and simply love the auto Heat to Air changeover. The unit has a built in 3 degree buffer between the heat temp and air conditioning temp so your HVAC system will not get burned out from constant switching. I live in TN close to Memphis and in this area it is common to have to run both the Air and Heat on the same day. The auto switchover feature is really a great help.
I would also like to add that the thermostat keeps an exact consistent temperature. If you set the unit to 72 it will remain constant at 72! The thermostat also learns how long it takes to for the heat or air to raise or lower the temperature, so if you want it to be 74 when you get up for work at 8AM it will be exactly 74 at 8AM. The system will start heating or cooling prior to the set time so it's exactly the temp you want when you scheduled it. It's also possible to set multiple days for the same on-off schedule to save time when programming.
I guess it could use a backlight button so you can push the light on at night, but if you touch the screen the backlight will come on.
I also wanted to add something about the programming to save some frustration. The thermostat comes with two manuals. One is the installation manual and the other is for programming. The menu system has codes for each feature. To access the code menu you will touch the System & Fan button (screen) then hold down the Fan button for five second. Now you will be in the codes menu. The codes are listed in the operations manual and are very easy to set up by simple using up and down arrows to make your selections.
I have not had to purchase many thermostats in my days, but this one is great especially when you consider the cost. It's also very impressive looking. If you are looking to save money and have consistent temperatures in your home, look no further.

I've been pretty happy with this thermostat so far. We moved into a new house and the thermostat was one of the first things we changed. I installed a Lux TX9000TS in my previous house (which I loved by the way) but was unable to get the same model because it was not compatible with the multi-stage heat pump at my new house.
Installation was pretty straightforward, only about 15 minutes to wire it up and mount it on the wall. It's important to read ALL of the instructions because there's a setup section which tells you how to configure the thermostat for your system. The configuration seems to happen at a pretty low level (settings with codes/values rather than words - use the install book for reference). It took me awhile to figure out that I needed to configure the system using the configuration codes in order to get it to work.
The scheduling program works pretty well and doesn't take too long to set up. The display is easy to read and control.
Overall I would recommend this product to someone who has a multi-stage heat pump system. If you have something compatible with the Lux TX9000TS I would also recommend that.

This is the second Honeywell thermostat I have purchased. I chose Honeywell because of their great tech support and excellent reviews! It was extremely easy to install for my heat pump. I did not fully program the thermostat at first because of being in a hurry. However, I just set it for a comfortable temp (after doing the primary setup) and placed it on permanent hold. I am a 68 yr. old housewife and if I could install and set up the thermostat anyone can! I would highly recommend the this thermostat!Customer Review: Savings

We are a church facility with three separate heating systems. We have ordered two of the programable thermastats to help keep heating costs down during the week in the church area. The first thermastat was installed a couple of weeks ago and we are able to keep the church area at 55 degrees during the week and warm up for Wednesday evening and then again for Sunday services. Anxious to see what are savings will be.
Second thermastat was ordered for the classrooms on the lower level where we have a school Monday thru Friday from 7 AM until 2 PM. Just installed that thermastat this week hoping it will regulate the heat according the needs of the school. So far very pleased

Like most amazoners, I purchased this product based on the reviews and price here on amazon... In this case, I'm glad I did. This is an excellent product!!! Thanks to my "prime" membership, well worth the $79 for free 2-day shipping if you purchase a lot of stuff from amazon, my product arrived in 2-days.
Don't be discouraged by other peoples' review noting difficulty with programming/installation or the noise during operation. To tell you the truth, it was simple - it literally took 10 mins to pull the old thermastat off and replace with my nice new Honeywell. Another 5 mins to input my 7-day schedule and I'm off to eat dinner. I never even opened their literature for the installation or operation instructions - it's pretty self-explanatory...
MOST IMPORTANT STEP: Remember to use the stickers provided to label the wires when you take them off of the old thermastat - i.e. in my case, W sticker went on white wire, G sticker on green wire, RC went on red wire, and Y went on blue wire... Look at the label on the old thermastat by the screw when you remove the wire and place the corresponding sticker on it.
The only CON I've found in the first 15 mins of my new Honeywell experience Honeywell RTH7600B / RTH7600D Touchscreen 7-Day Programmable Thermostat - the backlight display as many have mentioned is goofy... Honeywell should consider placing a separate button to activate the light.
