I have used this thermostat for several months now and it is easy to program, has great features and works well.

Customer Review: Honeywell TH8110U1003 Vision Pro Digital Thermostat
Summary: 5 Stars

This product was easy to install and does not require professional installation if you can read instructions. It has an amazing ability to customize your heating/cooling system and I loved the ability for it to automatically decide whether heating or cooling is needed. It is truly a handsoff system that requires no changes once you set it.

Customer Review: no warranty if you install yourself
Summary: 1 Stars

I have purchased 4 of these in 2 houses- and like the thermostat- BUT- one of the last ones I purchased has a flakey touchscreen. You really have to push and push to get it to recognize a command. When calling Honeywell (twice)- I learned- they won't honor any warranty directly with the customer. You must have a contractor come out to get it replaced.

So- you could buy a new one for $100- or pay for 2 service calls to get yours fixed under warranty. In other words- there is no warranty if you install it yourself. I'm irritated by this and wouldn't buy another product from them now...

Customer Review: Not for Everyone
Summary: 1 Stars

This is a Great thermostat for most people like the reviews say .
There is a feature called Adaptive Intelligent recovery which after a couple of weeks learn's how long it takes for your furnace to reach the programmed temp.
So if you have your wake temp. set for 5 am on occasion the furnace will turn on at 4 or 4:15 to reach the wake temp. by 5 am. For some this may be Great .
But we enjoy sleeping without the heater on an prefer it to come on when we wakeup .
I haven't received a response back from Honeywell to see if this feature can be disabled .
To me the object of a programmable Stat. is so I can control the program not the Stat.

Customer Review: Extremely usable with tons of features, but noisey
Summary: 4 Stars

This is replacing a Carrier Totaline non-programmable fully-auto thermostat on my basic gas heat/AC HVAC. I originally purchased a Honeywell RTH7600D1006 and was extremely disappointed with it, you can see my scathing review on this site. It lacked backlight control and was extremely difficult to program.

In contrast this unit is excellent. One quick reference to the manual is all you need to get started programming it as the user interface is extremely intuitive and well laid out. You can program each day individually, multi-select days, review the programming without editing it, and on and on.

Some features this unit has that made me purchase it:

* Circulation fan control where it runs the fan 35% of the time whether the heat/AC is on or not. Seems like a feature that will help keep the temperature consistent throughout all of the rooms the HVAC services.
* Fully automatic changeover so it turns on the heat or cool for you by itself. Note you have to set this via the special installer codes covered in the manual (like all of the features not related to programming or changing the heat)
* Controllable backlight. You can configure it so there's always a low-level backlight on so you can actually see the unit in the dark.

Note this particular unit does NOT include the humidity control. That's found in the more expensive unit. But it seems like a reasonable feature to consider if you live in humid environments.

The only behaviour this unit has that I do *NOT* like, and the only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5, is that it makes an audible "pop" noise when switching the HVAC on/off. It's not extremely loud but my Carrier thermostat didn't make any noise and was totally silent.
