Tools and Hardware Reviews of Honeywell TH8110U1003 Vision Pro 8000 Digital ThermostatCustomer Review: Best Bang for the Buck Summary: 4 Stars
I put this in at the recommendation of my brother who is in the HVAC business. They service multi-million dollar homes & this is the thermostat that is used in most of them to keep their homes comfortable with minimal adjustment. you can just set this thing up and forget about it.
It has 4 different settings for each day of the week, for heat and cool.(Wake, Leave, Home, Sleep) My old one had settings for weekdays and weekends only which is a problem if you weekends don't always fall on Saturday and Sunday. the only time I need to adjust this one is when the weather changes drastically & I switch to heat or cool.
It was simple to install and set up. the mounting holes lined up perfectly with the one I replaced so no new holes were needed.
Customer Review: Great Thermostat Summary: 5 Stars
Easy set up, just make sure you read all of the installation instructions. Some of the features the thermostat has are not active out of the box and require you to turn them on. The thermostat it self is very easy to use and program. I now have more control than I ever did and am able to keep the house at a comfortable level all the time. It is nice to never have to mess with the thermostat and the Auto Changeover feature is great! It heats the house in the morning and cools it during the day. One other feature I found handy is a circulation feature on the fan. It will run the fan 35% of the time to keep the air in the house moving. If you are thinking about purchasing a new thermostat get this one, you will be happy.
Customer Review: Great Thermostat Summary: 5 Stars
This was an upgrade from a 5-2 programable thermostat. The 7 day programability is a great option for that house with varried schedules, like ours. It took 15 minutes to install and about the same to program - worked great first time. This thing is loaded with options that we'll likely never use, but some might. A nice feature is being able to remove the unit from the wall for programing. We've had it for about three months now and it works flawlessly. The touch screen is cool and works great. The backlight is powerful - makes programing in a darkened room quite easy. Temporary temperature adjustments are easy ... using the unit is quite intuitive, even for my technophobic wife. All in all, a great unit.
Customer Review: Far better than the less expensive Honeywell! Summary: 5 Stars
I replaced my older Honeywell 5-2 day programmable thermostat... all I am thinking now is what took me so long to purchase this! This seems far more accurate, the temperature is much more consistent than my old thermostat and it couldn't be any simpler to install, program and use. You set it and walkaway it does the rest. All the needed information is always displayed on the large display (unlike my old thermostat). I also have the outdoor sensor but I have yet to install it, I can't wait to give this a try seems like it will be a handy little add on.
So, for just a few dollars more (if you shop around) over Home Depots best Honeywell this is hands down the way to go!
Customer Review: Not for Everyone Summary: 1 Stars
This is a Great thermostat for most people like the reviews say .
There is a feature called Adaptive Intelligent recovery which after a couple of weeks learn's how long it takes for your furnace to reach the programmed temp.
So if you have your wake temp. set for 5 am on occasion the furnace will turn on at 4 or 4:15 to reach the wake temp. by 5 am. For some this may be Great .
But we enjoy sleeping without the heater on an prefer it to come on when we wakeup .
I haven't received a response back from Honeywell to see if this feature can be disabled .
To me the object of a programmable Stat. is so I can control the program not the Stat.
