It is a decent product. easy installation, just mock up with the wire settings from my previous Honeywell 5220 model. works great!
It is a pity that I discovered one feature after I bought this themostat: this themostat can wire up a external temperature sensor for automatically coordinating the heat pump and aux heat source under low temprature weather, which can save more energy. This is because the heat pumps are not so efficient in low temprature weather.
Unfortuanately, I can't wire an external temperature sensor because I don't want to break my walls.
If I knew this feature earlier, I would consider a themostat that can wire up a wireless external temperature sensor, e.g. Honeywell Prestige wireless thermostat.
Anyway, this unit is a great product. it does its job well.

I purchased this thermostat about 4 months ago and have been very pleased with its performance. It was easy to install, simple to program and does a great job. The instructions were fine for someone who knows a little about AC and heating but is not an expert. I particularly liked the ability to lock the settings to keep the kids from changing the temperature when the parents are away.
One caveat - I tried the feature where it turns the fan on periodically to circulate the air without the furnace or AC unit coming on. The extra run time on the fan probably contributed to its failure - 2 days after the warranty expired! Bad luck and no telling how long it would have lasted, but I turned that off and haven't missed it. I could see how that could help in a home that heats up or cools off unevenly though.

This is a nice looking, easy to use stat, with a lot of cool features, just as the other reviews state. However, I took mine down after a month because it drove me crazy. The problem with it is it tries to be too accurate! The furnace or AC keeps turning on or off too much. There is no way to adjust it to give a +/- 1 or 2 degree variance, so it tries to keep your house at EXACTLY whatever degree you set it at, all that does is wear out your equipment (igniter, compressor) prematurely. Every other t-stat I have ever owned (even cheapo ones) have had a place to set the over-run and under-run, but not this one. I called Honeywell on this and was told that Honeywell has decided that people can feel one degree change in temp. so the feature was removed in this (premium) stat.Customer Review: Very pleased.

I am very pleased with this thermostat. It works as promised and adds a touch of modernism and elegance to the decor. It is not a substantial upgrade feature-wise from my previous thermostat but it does have some nice touches. It is removable from the wall for easy programming. Installation was a snap, I just matched the corresponding color coded wires from my old thermostat to this new one. It is very easy to read at night of course with it's backlight as well. I think the best thing about it is that it has all the information you need on one easy to see and well layed out screen.
I ordered from Climate Doctors through Amazon. They shipped quickly and it arrived quickly.
I just ordered a second one for my second zone upstairs.

This thermostat replaced our old thermostat. It can be used with a heat pump (which some cannont.) It was used for our home with central heat and air. It allows different schedule each day. It allows for you to override the program and define the time when you want the program to kick back in. It give you flexibility. It lets you set the furnace protection for up to 5 minutes to keep your furnace from turning on and off to often. We saved a lot of money having the programs in place. It is quite big, so if you are replacing a old thermostat, no need to order the extra cover for the wall, it should cover the old whole without a problem. I suggest looking at the wires you have and compare it to the thermostat before you purchase any thermostat.
