This window fan is ideal for a small area such as the kitchen. It is able to exhaust air and is mountable (allowing you to place it anywhere in the window). Yes, I have stronger/better fans, but this is ideal for the kitchen or office where you don't want strong wind flow (disturbing your lit stove or paperwork and blowing dust). Reguardless how good your fan is, a fan placed in the window is by far more effective of cooling an area. When cooking, it may be more effective to exhaust the heat from oven than to add air, and this machine allows you to either or both and the mounting option allows you to place exactly where you want it.Customer Review: bargin fan

i am still trying to figure out how this fan and the other honeywell fan differ (other than this is 24.99 and the other is 39.99). mine has the exact features as the more expensive one even though this is described as a bargin unit. this has the individual fan controls, directional grills, thermostat.... i would advise since this product is 24.99 to purchase something else too so you can take advantage of the free shipping. i didnt really need anything else so i picked up a 1.99 cat toy and got the free shipping instead of forking out the 14 bucks shipping would have cost without the additional purchase!Customer Review: Excellant choice!

I bought this for a small room that I use for making fishing lures. I use liquids that have harmful fumes and I needed one that would draw the unpleasant odors and fumes to the outside so it did not spread through my house. This fan does the job! It fits perfect and is so easy to take out of the window and to put back in when I am ready to use it. I definetly recommend this fan!! I would like to have more to use in the spring and fall all through my house just to circulate the air instead of using my a/c. The price is right too!! If you need a window fan... We used this in the bedroom during shoulder seasons. With two dogs in the bedroom, air quality was poor. By using this fan I was able to bring fresh air in and exhaust dander and dust.
We set the temperature on the fan and set on fan to supply and one to exhaust. The fan comes on when the room temp is warm from all the body heat, then shuts off when the room cools down. What a great feature! No more freezing in the middle of the night.
Quality wise, this unit has been running for about 1 year with no problems at all.

I've tried two other fans and they were too noisy (high pitch whine). This one is the most quiet and a decent deal for a reversible fan. The nice thing is that the controls are separate for each fan, so if you only need a little airflow you can have only one fan running. You can also change the direction of the air by rotating the grilles (grating?) - sorry, English is my second language and I'm not sure how to call these:) I find the temperature control pretty useless though.
