We bought this for our Hoover SteamVac Carpet Cleaner with Clean Surge. It is actually the same soap that came as a sample with our Hoover. We thought it worked good enough, so we bought more of it. Hoover recommends using their brand of soap because other brands may suds too much for the machine and damage it. Not sure if this is true or just a ploy to get you to buy THEIR soap. Regardless, it seems to work good enough for our needs and it isn't too expensive, so we will continue to buy it.Customer Review: Amazing cleaner

This is the best deep cleaning solution I've used. I have three dogs and care for my daughters two dogs. I also garden, so let me tell you, I have dirt and lots of paws to track it in, as well as accidents. My carpets looked great after shampooing with this product. This is a great cleaner to keep heavy traffic areas clean. There is a visible difference after using this cleaner. This does not take the place of a professional cleaner. I still hire a company to steam clean every couple of years. The one thing that I don't like about this product is that it uses A LOT of cleaning solution to a relatively small area of carpet. Used w/ Hoover Steamvac w/ Clean Surge on Vicose and wool area rugs w/ set stains. Cleaned generally very well but didn't do much to remove the stains. Seems an average to slightly above cleaner, not designed to remove deep stains. Will probably try other products(based on reviews in Consumers Reports} when this is used up. Will also try a separate cleaner desinged for removal of heavy stains.Customer Review: tuffbevie

I am writing this review because I am impressed with this cleaner. I have used many other carpet cleaners by hand. This one is used with a My Steam Vac, however, I have noticed when I get little spills they clean up easily with a rag since I have been cleaning my carpet with this cleaner. I now have used it for touch ups by hand sometimes and it is the best. Wouldn't use anything else now.
