Customer Review: Another mistake
Summary: 2 Stars

This is my 2nd vacuum purchase in less than a year from Amazon; one Hoover, one Bissel, both sticks. I only have low pile/flat rugs, bare floors and vacuum once a week. So its inexcusable that these highly rated machines are so flimsy. The Hoover Flair is plugged into its charger so its always available, yet its suction is not strong. There is a small rubber flap inside the body that dislodged after 2nd cleaning, maybe that is the cause, but a simple wiping should not have crippled this vacuum if that's even the case.

I've had it really with trying to buy economically. It really irks me to no end that its a choice between a $300 noisy huge vacuum that may work longer and suction better but I have no place to store it or buying another piece of junk like these stick vacs. If you havent bought one, think twice and if you decide to buy one anyway, be prepared that it may not last for long.

Amazing the things we can do technologically and creating a vacuum that works and is affordable seems out of reach.

Customer Review: Perfect NYC apartment vacuum....
Summary: 4 Stars

I bought this for my NYC apartment - it's all bare floors, my roommate has a dog, and he doesn't own a vacuum (gross). I'm a super neat freak so I bought this little thing so I could vacuum the floors every day or two, keep my allergies in check and the kitchen clean. I just got it, and I was pleasantly surprised. For $40, I thought it would be "acceptable", but it's actually quite good! Strong suction, looks good, is sturdy, cleaned up my apt nicely in no time with no hassle, and quietly too. Sucked up dog food, little stones from a fallen bamboo plant, a bobby pin (oops), and all the styrofoam that broke off when I unpacked it. The cord is super long for a little upright, and the filter was messy to clean but very efficient.

One star off b/c the plastic attachments are definitely brittle and breakable, but I figure I will just have to be a little careful. Overall, great for non-carpet owning apartment dwellers!

(PS free shipping took 3 business days - awesome!)

Customer Review: Breaks down, and it's too late for me to return it.
Summary: 1 Stars

We got this as a light-weight vac to leave at our vacation home to use between visits from our cleaner. Had it there for about 5 months, during which time it received very little use, since the place has been mostly vacant, except for the 3 weeks it was occupied - and even then, it was not used very frequently because - Hey! - we're on vacation while we're there and are more likely to leave any vacuuming to be done by the cleaners after we leave.

Well, my cleaner called today because she used it for a bit of light touch-up after she sent her main vac on to the next unit with her partner; and it died.

I had planned to order two more of these vacs (one for my other vacation home and one for my own home), but I don't think I will now. Had I used the thing at home, where it would have been used more frequently, it probably would have pooped out at lot sooner and quite possibly I could have gotten some of my money back. But 5 months down the road, I guess I'm out of luck.

Customer Review: Does not do a good job
Summary: 4 Stars

I have had the Hoover Flair Stick Cleaner for about 2 weeks. I like it fine. It is a little heavier than I would hope. I am coming from a Eurecka Boss which is very light.

However, the Hoover seems to do the job fine. We have a wood stove as well as a dog. So there is constantly stuff on the floor to pick up. It does a good job picking up even large wood chips that I would not have expected it to do. I hope holds up under the workload.

TWO weeks more
I have become disenchanted with this item. It does not pick up small small pebbles. I look behind where I have already vacuumed, and see a trail of unpicked up items. The nose has a tendency to turn and stick up in the air, and next thing you know, it is up in the air, not vacuuming at all. That is in addition to the loud noise.

I would not recommend this product. I would advise you to keep looking for a good stick vacuum. This would not be it!

Customer Review: Is it wrong to love a vacuum
Summary: 5 Stars

I have three kids, two dogs, two cats and wood floors so I had to sweep everyday this vacuum cuts the time in half!
In my quest for a stick vacuum I decided to go with a plug in model because from the reviews I read there were complaints of batteries losing power overtime, so once I narrowed down my decision I did research on plug in stick vacuums and found a video on the hsn.com site showing the features of this particular model and every one they showed is true, I love the way you can put the vacuum up to the wall and it gets every last speck of dust, glitter, dog food, cat hair! I like the length of the cord, how easy it is to clean, and how well it cleans!
My only complaint, and it is kind of an annoying one is they didn't designed it so you couldn't rest it against the wall or counters, so you have to lay it on the ground while you're not using it. Even with this complaint I wouldn't trade it in for nothin'!
