I bought this for picking up kid's crumbs under the kitchen table and dust balls on the hardwoods (that seem to magically appear every 3 days). I am still loving it! It gets the Cheerios, small pieces of crafts, stray Legos as well as the dustbunnies. Even glitter! I would recommend this to anyone with noncarpeted floors (tile, hardwood, linol). I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because it stinks on rugs and carpet. So I still have to lug the old vacuum out for the throw rugs. But I mostly use it for my kitchen tile and hardwoods. The filter is easy to clean, too. Very light, can use on stairs, too. I am buying one for my Mom today.Customer Review: Be careful on S2200 model

There are two Hoover Flairs with the same S2200 model number, but with one significant difference. The easiest way to tell them apart is the color...this one is gray and the other is red/maroon. The gray is for hard surfaces and does not have a rotating brush in the head, so it is not good for carpet or rugs. The red has the brush for carpet and is only about $10 more.
My wife rates the red model as five star when used for quick pick ups and getting into tight places.
I returned the gray model and bought the red one. Amazon handeled the return and new shipment in an excellent manner.

Love the vacuum, but at 10 months it started falling apart. A screw, that I had never touched, became stripped and would not stay in. Also the wheels fell off. When I called the company, they said that only the "motor" was guarateed for 1 year. Funny thing, the paperwork that came with the vacuum doesn't mention anything other than guaranteed for 1 year. It doesn't specify things that are guaranteed or not guaranteed. They said I had to replace the entire head for $22.00. Just for the wheels???? I bought a 4 inch screw, and a locking washer. Fixed it myself for under $1.00.Customer Review: Great on the first try

I have hardwood floors and a yellow lab, the Hoover worked GREAT! The other reviews are helpfull and yes, the cord is very short and it does not stand up for storage, BUT it worked great. If I knew how to knit I could of knit another dog with the hair that I picked up. The fact that it swiviled was a real plus. I could get under chairs, the couch and low coffee table without a problem and also between furnisher that I could not do with my standard Hoover.
The item arrived on the promised date and in good shape. Very happy that I bought it so far.

My Hoover Flair Stick broke the 5th time I used it, snapped right off at the neck. Apparently this appears to be a common problem, and I wish I had read these reviews more closely before purchasing.
To add insult to injury, because it was past 30 days (but less than 60), Amazon will only refund a portion of the price. What a ripoff! I understand it is not their fault, but they should honor products they sell.
If you still insist on purchasing one, do so at a retail outlet that will refund the full purchase price when it breaks off.
