I have some grout stains that I haven't been able to get out. The grout is quite new (months old, not years old), but mold stains started appearing in the hotter summer months probably due to humidity. The grout is between small tiles in the bottom of a shower. I've started leaving the shower door open after showering so that water can evaporate before a mold colony takes hold, but it appears this is too little too late.
I tried this cleaner with a grout scrubbing brush (I don't own the steam cleaner) based on the reviews here. I have tried a number of other methods and I have to say the only thing that partially worked was to put straight laundry bleach on the tiles using paper towels and letting it sit there for hours. The problem with this approach is that bleach discolors the grout and the mold seems to come back. I hate to say it but the only likely solution is to re-grout with a mold resistant grout.
Three stars because I believe this product does work for some people.
