Tools and Hardware Reviews of Hoover L2310 GUV 10 Amp 5-Gallon Garage Utility VacuumCustomer Review: They could have spent more time designing the attachments.. Summary: 2 Stars
I have had this vacuum for about a month now and I find that for one, the main plastic piece on the end of the hose is not air tight, which of course creates a loss of suction. After putting a piece of duct tape around it the problem seemed to be fixed, the problem now is that I have a brand new vacuum that looks less than classy.
Also, some of the attachments that connect to the end plastic piece are angled in ways that make it hard to vacuum without having them spin around when you use pressure on it trying to vacuum out a car. When using certain attachments, I have to hold the the end in multiple places just to get the attachment to stay and not do a 180° spin on me...
The vacuum itself is a simple, sturdy and stable design but the attachments are not. You can tell they probably spent no time testing this with the attachments.

Hi folks -
Cheaply made Chinese vac.
Mine broke and I was not able to talk to anyone at Hoover - later finding out that Hoover was bought-out by a Chinese company and all production (including the GUV) is now done in China (or Taiwan).
Replacement parts are laughably expensive (check out the price for a filter lol).
Cheap crap - and it is not a wet vac either -
Save $50 and get a quality made Shop Vac Bulldog - Made in America, three year warranty and twice the suction power of the underpowered GUV.
Seriously folke - here is an opportunity to support your own country and get a better quality product for less - how anyone could buy a GUV after learning this is beyond me.
best regards-

Customer Review: Works well, price is right Summary: 4 Stars
Suction is good. Price is right. Construction is solid and impressive - nice bumpy metal feel and details. It's acting as a central vacuum for my apartment.
Complaint: it's kinda inefficient. Motor is small (2-3 inches wide compared to the 12 inch main housing), suction tube is kinda small for the 30ft length. As you might imagine with hoover, the components appear to be based on conventional vacuums and favor lightness over efficiency. That said, it's no worse than a typical vacuum, just could be heavier and run cooler. A remote power switch would help this a whole lot, like one on a mig welder.
Compared to an upright vac, I like this setup. I have a magical suction tube that takes nearly anything away from nearly anywhere. Can't wait to see more mini-central-vac-capable systems like this.
Customer Review: Just as powerful as the carwash vacuums Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this vacuum for my wife for Christmas. OK, I know what you're thinking...what a romantic guy! My wife is fastideous about keeping our cars spotless. We have three dogs that she takes on drives to go for walks at the park or at the nearby boardwalk. On top on them, she takes countless dogs from the local Humane Society for trips in our cars. So needless to say, we needed a vacuum that could suck the dog hair out of the carpeting in the cars. This vacuum is incredible at doing that. In fact, it has become the community vacuum for other volunteers at the Humane Society to use to clean their cars. Everyone raves about it, especially my wife. So see, don't judge me too quickly about my "romantic" gifts. My wife thanks me for the vacuum everytime she uses it.
Customer Review: Does what it is supposedt to do! Summary: 5 Stars
Bought one of these a few months ago and found it more than adequate for its intended purpose. It is very quiet (runs very hot) and does a fine job of vacuuming my autos. It also comes in handy for cleaning up around my drill press. Hose length is generous enough to cover my entire 2-1/2 car garage. I believe I wrote a review before (just bought a couple more for my sons) but DO NOT install this thing to drywall (sheetrock/Gypsum board) with the included plastic anchors. Your shiny new vacuum will be lying on the floor in short order. It MUST be attached to wood framing members via wood screws. The alternate is to use toggle bolts.
Great unit at $150 price.....I one I just purchased from Amazon was only $130...now that was a buy!
