I purchased this GUV from Amazon...shipped quickly and opened it up to begin the cleaning of cobwebs in my garage. WOW.......the 30' hose pulled the cobwebs from the walls and reached all around the garage.
Then I took it to my car . . . it worked great there too. The only drawback that I see is that compared to my Hoover indoor vac, the hose is not as good...a little stiff. I would be willing to pay more for the very soft hose found on the indoor Hoover. By the way- my garage has 10' ceilings - with the tools, I could reach everywhere. It is great for the designated garage area in that one is not trying to drag around the indoor vac and struggle to accomplish the same results.

I bought one of these a while back and was unhappy with it for the following reasons;
extremely loud
motor ran very hot
in removing the filter element dust and debris flew all over the place.....
When it fell over recently, the motor shrieked and smelled like it was burning(wasn't much of a fall either)upon inspection I found that the rotor was shorting out against the stator because the form used to hold the assembly together was all plastic, so a simple fall of the vacuum snapped the mounting points for the screws.....sorry, but when you're running that much current through a motor it should be able to sustain a small impact. Thumbs down, hoover.

I can't say how well this unit works because I never ran it. When the unit arrived I noticed a little rattling going on, so because I'm curious I had to know what in the h-ll is wrong with this thing,low and behold upon removing the top of the unit (suffering a laceration on the old fergini)I discovered not to much to my suprise that the plastic motor housing was broken and the bolt to plastic standoff was stripped. I put the unit back together (taking care so as not to recieve another laceration) called Amazon got a return authorization and set her back to wence it came. I got my refund in a timley fashion and all is good. (except I'm running out of band-aids)Customer Review: What is the correct amperage of the GUV???

I have hesitated to purchase this unit because of conflicting information concerning the motor amperage. The description clearly states 10 amp, while the promotional video below the description touts it as 12amp. My research on the internet by other vendors does not help the 10 vs 12 amp question. They all have the same model number!! Could this be a classical "Walmart marketing strategy" were a company with large purchasing power dictates to the company (Hoover) which accessories they do or do not want and alter the product ever so slightly (10 vs 12 amp) in order to offer the seemingly same product at a lower price point. 10 or 12 amp this is the question??Customer Review: Hoover Shop Vac

New Hoover L2310 Guv Pro-Grade Garage Utility Vacuum Lifetime Filter 30 Ft Crush-Proof Hose Steel This product exceeds what it says it will do, you can bring in the house to clean up a mess as quickly as we use it out in the shop area for doing the floors and table tops from wood crafting to cleaning out the cars. What a wonderful machine, works like a champ. Even with the 30 foot hose, which is a blessing, you have the power you need to handle the job. Recommend it highly, it is a back saving tool.
