Customer Review: Missing Parts, Able to 'Jimmy-Rig'/VERY Attractive and holds a LOT!

Not sure about this Hamper. I love the look... I'd have preferred it in a darker brown with our decor, however nothing was available in this color and our old hamper bit the dust. However, it arrived without one of the brackets that holds the cross-bar, which is the support for all of the sorting bags. In other words, without an essential piece. It was not 'broken off' either, just absent. I was able to balance the bar onto the outer side of the hamper, and it works fine enough... not sure if it's worth the hassle of return/exchange only because it is now out of stock and I really would rather not return the first until I get the second (I threw out the packaging on Xmas before we realized it was missing the piece and further, it is set up and working-ish for now). I also should mention that the reviews about the sorting-bags being FULL OF STRINGS IS NO EXAGGERATION!!! I LITERALLY SPENT OVER AN HOUR TRIMMING STRINGS FROM THE EDGES (*OUTER EDGES*) OF THE BAGS!!! OMG!!! Further, one of the bags, after the strings were trimmed away, revealed itself to have an unsewn seam; in other words, as I've no sewing maching, I have to hand-stich it which will be an hour or two long project... OR I can wait for this to come back into stock and re-trim the new set of bags. Either way, ANNOYING!!! Finally, it is NOT very sturdy as it is meant to be collapsable. I think we shall try the zip-tie at the bottom idea, which should hold the base of the unit in (the weight of laundry above tends to push the base - which holds the unit in open position vs collapsed - out of the bottom and onto the floor, again, not tragic but indeed frustrating). For the price, it certainly could be better made. I got it on sale, but still paid well over $75 for a unit that needs repairs or modifications in 3 or 4 different ways. If I'd paid $25 perhaps that would be acceptable? However, there is little on the market that I like and fits my narrow condo hallway, has reviews that are doable in their negativity (many units, such as the tip-out cabinets, would look better but pose a danger to my small children, as reviews state they tend to tip forward dangerously). My final word: Looks great. Can be Jimmy-Rigged effectively and easily enough. Once altered by the purchaser, FAR more sturdy and I see it lasting a good long while; the weave itself is strong and attractive. NOT OBVIOUSLY A HAMPER. Ours sits in a hall btwn Living and Kitchen, and looks completely unassuming. However, if they'd remove the handle-cut-outs it'd be even more 'discrete'. It holds a TON of laundry; we are a family of 4 with a toddler and a 9yro. We make a LOT of laundry, and it's holding much of it! All in all, decent, not great, but the attractiveness/Rig-ability wins out in the end.

This triple bagged laundry hamper/sorter #ML-6445 from WHITNEY DESIGN can be easily put to use. The exterior sides of this hamper/sorter are woven from all natural seagrass. The inner frame is strong metal wire construction. To allow movement on the floor, it comes with casters. Each bag is made from a soft cotton material and each bag is removable.
