Tools and Hardware Reviews of Whitney Design 07137 Silver Triple Laundry Sorter PlusCustomer Review: DO NOT BUY THIS ITEM! Summary: 1 Stars
I bought 2 of these for my wife to replace a couple of similar carts we had gotten at Target. Don't let the $10 price fool you, they aren't worth the effort it take to add them to your cart.
First, since I ordered 2, they shipped separately. I got the first one, and assembled it no problem. So far so good right?
Wrong. I got the second one the next day and went to assemble it, but was missing all of the screws and wheels. The only thing in the box were the rails and bag. It looked like someone had built both ends of the box out of tape. Apparently, most of the contents fell out in transit or in the warehouse. I noticed that the first box was in the same shape, but we had somehow managed to get all of the parts through some miracle.
After having the first cart for a day or two, I realized how shoddy these things were. The first time my wife put some laundry on the cart and moved it across the room, it almost fell apart.
See, the tubing that the cart is made from has these inserts in the ends that the screws go into when you assemble the cart. Problem is, if you move the cart over rough carpet, or heaven forbid, hit a sock on the floor, the inserts the start to pull out.
By the time I'd tightened all the screws TWICE, the entire thing was falling apart. I have an engineering degree, and I couldn't keep the stupid thing from going to pieces. Problem is, it was only 2 days after I'd opened the box.
I guess there's a reason that these carts cost 1/4 of the others.
Do yourself a favor, and get the Target StoreIt Laundry Sorter.
Customer Review: Cheaply made. Do not buy. Summary: 2 Stars
I bought this because it had wheels and it was the lowest-priced among similar laundry sorters I was checking out. I wanted one so that I do not have to lug a big laundry bag from my apartment, down the elevators to the basement, to the laundry room, and then lug back the clean laundry back up to my apartment (get the picture?). I also wanted to be able to sort, darks from whites and delicates. This seemed like a good choice, but before the month ended, the screws went loose often, AND the wheels would fall off (because nothing secures the wheels to the poles). It would be such a hassle when I would be rolling the sorter to the elevator, one of the wheels would come loose and I would have a tripod sorter, stop too pick up the wheel and then put it back on. Now I just leave this thing in my closet, and I bought a laundry bag instead to lug my laundry up and down from the laundry room. So if you have the same use for this item, do not buy this item. Go for a more heavy duty one.
Customer Review: SINGLE MOM GIVES IT 5 THUMBS UP! Summary: 5 Stars
Wow I really did not know what to expect for the price. I got it and it took 8 minutes to assemble. It is remarkably sturdy and compact but dont be fooled it holds alot!( 6 loads to be exact) The best part is its on wheels I can roll it out of the way, OH and not having to bend over and pick up cloths out of plastic laundry basket is great. It makes the laundry room look clean and neat. I like it so much I bought another one just to have for a quick house gift on hand. As a single mom of 4 I find life less stressfull being organized and this helps get the job done easily. The 4 boys have no problem with imediatly sorting their dirty clothes into the divided bins acording to lights, darks and whites. I am very pleased, I Love it and the price is well worth it.
Customer Review: SO Flimsy!!! Summary: 1 Stars
I purchased 2 sorters. To start, the boxes arrived shredded and beaten up. One was missing its pack of screws. I got them replaced. Putting them together was easy. At first they seemed great. They rolled easily, light weight, compact, sturdy....that is until I began using them! the frame began to sway back and forth on both, the wheels would pop off easily (The wheels would fall off if I just looked at them!!! It was insane!)I would tighten the screws which would help for a few minutes, then the frame would begin to sway again. It became so bad that the frame would almost touch the ground with each sway! I would recommend you keep looking...this item is not worth your time or money.
Customer Review: Very pleased Summary: 5 Stars
I was a little skeptical about ordering this item because of the reviews, but I went ahead and got it because of the price and that it had a sorter.
I was just looking for something to organize my bathroom and get my dirty clothes out of a laundry basket.
This arrived with a few days of ordering and right away I put it together. It was very easy to assemble, and it looks great!
I am also pleased that it does feel pretty sturdy, and looks good! So far I like it, and works great for us!
The only down side is that I will have to take it apart to wash the sorter. For the price, I would definitely buy this!
