Tools and Hardware Reviews of Howard Leight MAX1 Earplugs Uncorded NRR33 Box/200 CountCustomer Review: Top performance Summary: 5 Stars
Best earplugs made! These earplugs fit comfortably in the ears and do not cause pain after long periods of wearing them. I use these when I fly, they block out the jet noise really well, definitely better than the cheap earplugs they hand to passengers. Also great for a silent ride on commuter trains or subways.
I also use these to create a "silent space" when in public, if I need instant quiet, this is the best way achieve it. Great for people who like to study at coffeeshops, student unions, and other places where noise levels can vary from silent to rowdy. I also strongly recommend this for people who are easily distracted by ambient noise during exams or quizzes. I have a focusing problem, these definitely help in blocking out the sounds of other students' paper shuffling, chair shifting, etc, during exams.
Also, color is BRIGHT TRAFFIC CONE ORANGE! Not coral.
Customer Review: My favorite ear plugs Summary: 5 Stars
I work in a tool shop and have worn many brands and types of ear plugs. These Howard Leight MAX1 ear plugs are the most comfortable of all the ear plugs I have ever tried and they work great. They also compress very well when you roll them between your fingers which makes them very easy to put in properly. The heavy taper at the back end insures they don't go in too far and are easy to get out. I like that they are packaged in little bags of two instead of being loose in a jar like the ones I used to buy at the drug store. If you keep them clean one pair will easily last a week, but at the price Amazon sells them that's hardly necessary. Some ear plugs make my ears itch. So far these have not. I would have preferred a flesh tone color but that is a minor nit pick as would not trade the quiet comfort for color.
Customer Review: these are the best I've found for long term (I wear to sleep at night) and generally the best noise control. Summary: 5 Stars
Highest recommendation. As I was saying, these are the best I've found for long term (I wear to sleep at night) and generally the best noise control. Because they are flanged, they seem to keep out a little bit more than the others. The flange also enables them to be withdrawn more easily. Also, my ear canals have become a little bit enlarged due to wearing earplugs a lot, these fill my ear canals whereas the others don't seem to completely. Also, the material of these is very light and so they are more comfortable. All and all these are the best I've found so far, and I've tried a lot. These are hugely better than the standard skin toned ones that are flat and the same size on both ends. Those also get stuck deep in my ears whereas these do not. So, as far as ear plugs go, these are my first choice.
Customer Review: light and comfy ear plugs... Summary: 5 Stars
I ran out of ear plugs the other day and went searching for more and stumbled across this deal on Amazon. These are rather nice and soft, and don't tend to bother me after hours of usage. At work I work on the airfield with 747s passing by, and it really helps, and when out on the shooting range these help too, on longer motorcycle rides with a lot of highway, it cuts down on the buffeting noise. And these are perfect when I'm out clubbing, no more "huh? what'd you say?" after the club, just normal volume type conversations.
Definitely one of the softer type ear plugs, but also nice and quiet. And most importantly, dirt cheap.
pros:
cheap
soft
comfortable
33NRR (highest of the soft ear plugs)
cons:
pink
Customer Review: The Best Summary: 5 Stars
I worked in an underground coal mine for thirty years. That's not pick and shovel anymore, it's LOUD machinery. For the first 15 years or so I was too young and stupid to wear earplugs and as a consequence I have significant hearing loss in one ear and a slight loss in the other. Thank goodness I finally wised up or I'd be deaf now. We were provided with numerous types of ear protection and far and away these are the best. I have worn them over 10+ years. 10 hour shifts. Sometimes keeping them in all day, sometimes popping them in and out as conditions dictate. They are quite reusable. My wife is just as big a fan as I apparently am the world's loudest snorer. Takes a little practice to insert them properly, but once you do you are in a quiet world.
