Tools and Hardware Reviews of Howard Leight MAX1 Earplugs Uncorded NRR33 Box/200 CountCustomer Review: Comfortable soundkilling ear plugs, individually wrapped Summary: 5 Stars
I finished a bag of Super 31 Ear Plugs (150 Pair Bag) and needed new ear plugs. These were cheaper and had great reviews so I gave them a whirl.
The plugs themselves are great - very comfortable and they deafen the sound to an impressive degree. I wear them to bed sometimes, and I don't hear a thing.
When I first opened the box, a bunch of plastic bags jumped out at me - each pair of plugs is individually wrapped in a tiny plastic bag! I often carry an extra pair or two just in case someone is struggling with hearing/noise/etc, and in these cases the individual wrapping is a nice assurance of newness and cleanliness. But, overall I'd skip the plastic baggies.
Customer Review: Howard Leight MAX1 Earplugs, NRR33 Summary: 3 Stars
These ear plugs are very light and do appear to reduce the noise level significantly, although I have no means to determine if the reduction is 33 decibels. I would strongly recommend buying a small quantity before purchasing a large box. My husband finds that, no matter how he attempts to insert them in his ears, over time they expand and work their way out which doesn't do much for noise reduction. That IS what they are sold for. We now have a box of 200, and who knows how long it will take to use them all. Perhaps the saving grace is that when they fall out of my husband's ears, he inserts another pair. That's certainly one way to use them up.
Customer Review: The Best Earplugs Ever! Summary: 5 Stars
About two years ago I had gone to my local Gander Mountain sporting goods store to buy earplugs. I bought one package of the Leight type and one of another type. Suffice to say, the Leight were superior in every way: easier to put in, more comfortable, more effective. Recently I went back to that store to buy some more Leight earplugs, only to find that they didn't sell them anymore! I couldn't believe that they had dropped the best product in favor of a product that was clearly inferior. So I frantically searched for them on Amazon, and was very happy when I found them. They were delivered quickly, and I am again happy with my earplugs!
Customer Review: Comfort and quiet Summary: 5 Stars
The earplugs are amazingly quiet. I wear them when I ride my motorcycle. I can easily wear them for hours. I gave a set to my Harley-riding buddy an he was amazed. He immediately for another pair so his wife could also enjoy them.
I wore them one night while I slept in a noisy environment a few weeks ago and I enjoyed a peaceful night's sleep without any ear discomfort.
The easiest way to put them in correctly is to roll the middle and top sections while leaving a small ball on the bottom and slide them right into your ear canal.
I have put a few pairs in my motorcycle to give to my friends.
Customer Review: Great earplugs as expected Summary: 5 Stars
Testing these out with other ear plugs and over-ear protection that offers the almost the same noise reduction, these work just as well.
When testing, make sure that they are squished down tight enough to fit into your ear.
Sometimes it takes a little practice, but once you find the right fit, they work well.
I like that the plugs have an extended edge to help keep them in better. Compared to other ear plugs without this feature, is really a plus for these plugs.
They do seem ever so slightly larger than the other ear plugs I've used, but they still work fine.
