Customer Review: This is the Absolute Worst Fan Control Designed

Like the others have said: the slider switches just break easily without even trying. To Hunter's credit: the will send you replacement slider knobs for free.
But the other annoying thing about it is not the easily-breakable knobs.
I used this fan control with a Casablanca Panama II ceiling fan (installed by a licensed electrician). When the fan is in the "off" position, it's not really "off." I think the fan motor is receiving power but it's not enough so you will hear this periodic thunking sound which gets irritating when you are trying to work in silence. I got so fed up with it I replaced it with the proven Lutron switch (it has no dimmer, but i didn't really use the feature, anyway). It may have been an isolated case, but to be honest, I couldn't be bothered to confirm this...I would just recommend to stay away from this switch just because of the easily-breakable knobs.
Lutrons are generally better switches, but more expensive. You get what you pay for, I guess. :-/
