Tools and Hardware Reviews of Hunter 28078 Markham Fan - Distressed Relic Traditional Ceiling Fan 52" Blade SpanCustomer Review: great fan for the price! Summary: 5 Stars
We bought this fan to go into our family room with an extremely high ceiling. I wanted to get a good quality product that will last for a really long time. Hunter seems to be a company that has been around for awhile, they seem to consistently get good reviews, and I loved my old hunter fan. Since the ceilings were so high, I hope to replace this fan maybe in about 20 years or more. At least I hope so!
The fan went up pretty smoothly. There were no major hiccups, except for the screws that attach to the electrical box. I needed ones that were a little longer since my boxes were recessed. A trip to the hardware store and we were back on track.
The fan is extremely quiet and stable. It doesn't move a ton of air around, but I attribute it to the large room. I didn't expect it to; I just wanted a little air movement and not a wind tunnel. I would expect it to push around a lot more air in a smaller sized room.
The one thing that I can think of, which isn't a fault of the fan per say, but with the remote. I bought an add-on remove for the unit, and I wished that I could control the forward/reverse of the fan from the remote. That, and when you set it up for the remote, it says to put the fan on high or else you could blow something. I'm about 99% sure the fan is on 'high', but it would be nice if the fan had a switch other than the pull chain to set it.
