Tools and Hardware Reviews of Hunter 20413 Auberville 44-Inch New Bronze Ceiling Fan with Light and 5 Dark-Cherry/Medium-Oak BladesCustomer Review: Super fan and tough to install alone Summary: 4 Stars
The good: this is a fine fan. It is number 5 and it is everybit as good as the other 4 Hunters up and working for over 10 years. It is quiet as advertised. It is effective at moving air in either direction. Afterall, this is the reason for buying a fan. Not only does it work well it is attractive.
The reason for giving it a 4 rating instead of a 5 is probably my inpatience but it seemed as if this day would never end. What? It is only a fan and should be easy to install. The other 4 were simple but this was a first class devilish install. I finally asked for help and it went up with similar stress but this time the stress was not on just one. Two.
I would buy another Hunter in a heartbeat but not this model.
Customer Review: Hunter Auberville Fan Review Summary: 5 Stars
I purchased a similar fan last year but not a Hunter. It lasted just a few months and was pretty pathetic in comparison. Anyway, I decided to replace it and chose the Hunter Auberville in its place. As I already have 4 other Hunters I felt very confident.
Took over an hour to install but it is fantastically quiet and efficient. On first use the air was coming out the sides of the blades which meant it was switched to clockwise. As soon as I switched it to counter-clockwise, the fan worked perfectly. It is so quiet I just cannot hear it hardly.
Very pleased with this model and I am about to order another one.
Customer Review: Hard to Install Summary: 3 Stars
It's a bit aggravating when manufacturers don't label their parts - which is just the problem I had.
There were lots of screws and parts and none were labeled - you had to guess which parts were which and which screw to use in which holes.
The instructions were a bit generic and were from 2006. It's definitely time to update the instructions and label the parts.
That being said 4 hours after taking it out of the box, laying everything out and scratching my head a number of times, the fan does seem to work fine.
You definitely need to be a shade mechanic to figure this thing out.
Customer Review: Disappointing Summary: 2 Stars
The fan itself looks just fine - exactly what you'd expect from a Hunter fan. The light cover is kinda ugly IMO. While the shape is nice, glass looks like it was spray painted to make it more opaque. Unattractive. My biggest objection, however, is the light output. This fixture only uses two candelabra bulbs, which come in 60 watts and less. In the evenings, I feel like I'm eating by candlelight, which is not the effect I desire. I'm disppointed. So much so that I am considering replacing this fan, which has only been installed for a couple of weeks.
Customer Review: Predictable quality - well built, nice looking Summary: 5 Stars
I have four Hunter fans in my home - all are just terrific! They look very nice and are clearly well built. They are silent, even when on higher speeds. Our bedroom fan is on almost all the time - summer and winter - and has yet to give us any problem. The Hunter Auberville that I purchased here was a gift for a family member. They hung the fan themselves and found it to be very easy to do, although it did require going into the attic to add an additional brace due to the weight. They love it!
