I took the cover off (with some but not much difficulty since it had only been 2 years) since I installed the unit, and to my surprise there was a fair amount of rust development under the cover. I have a 3x3 stand up shower (pocket) that gets all of the steam from the shower, however given that this unit claims to be suitable for damp locations, I would have expected that the coating on this unit would have stood up to tests of normal conditions.Customer Review: Looks & works great ... but horrible design

Pros: Great modern design that looks good. Strong & quiet fan. Good price a few years back.
Cons: Unlike the 5 other reviews, I find it *virtually impossible* to remove the cover in order to change the bulbs.
Because of this difficulty, I would not recommend this particular model to anyone. However, I would recommend the Hunter brand - just stay away from this specific model though, and you should be good.

I selected this bathroom exhaust fan to replace a Nutone fan that was 9 yrs. old and the bearings on the fan motor were shot.
This fan looks great, is really quiet and was very easy to install.
Compared to purchasing a replacement Nutone exhaust fan, this was half the price, great value!

Great quiet fan until one day somebody accidentally bumped it and the light cover fell and smashed. This thing is a bad design as the cover only sort of hangs, and does not properly secure. It only takes a liitle upward push, and down it comes.Customer Review: Hunter Bathroom Fan and Light

Love the look of this. Ended up getting one for my guest and master bath. Love the regular light and the night light feature (so you can leave it on for guests / children to find their way at night). Excellent product.
