Mounting this wheel/tire rack is a mostly simple process. The base plate mounts with heavy duty screws into wall studs. It is set up for 16" centered studs, but you can drill more holes for any stud spacing. Then you can slide the two end brackets into the base plate. The little trickier part is to next install the three horizontal, adjustable steel bars so your tires size(s) fit OK. It took me 2 trial settings before settling on a good "fit." This process can be a pain if you do it like I did. I put the unit high on my garage wall which meant I carried a wheel/tire up a step ladder. Since I didn't already mark which holes to put the horizontal into, changing the setting twice after the initial one meant carrying the wheel/tire up the ladder 3 times. A smarter way would be to leave the end brackets on the floor and loosely install the horizontal bars, try a wheel/tire on it by tipping the unit backwards to get the tire off the floor so it hangs on the bars. Mark which holes to put the bars and then assemble all the pieces onto the wall bracket.
Unit is sturdy and very good overall quality.

Originally found this product on tirerack.com, but it was on backorder for 2 months. After a little research, I found the exact product on amazon.com for about $30 less and had it within 5 days.
The product was pretty easy to install. It took me (alone) about an hour and required a ladder, drill, level, and a ratchet/socket set. It took a little while to figure out the best way to position the three adjustable bars to best hold my 20" wheels and tires, but after that, the only difficult part was picking those wheels/tires up that high.
The quality of the product is great, the black paint seems to be on thick and appears to be very durable. The bars are chrome plated, and look great.
Overall, this is a great product for the money and is a must-have if you have a spare set of wheels/tires and want to take back some of your garage space. Mine are now up and out of the way and my garage looks very organized.

I needed some type of storage device to get my alternate set of wheels and tires for my car out of the way to free up floor space in the garage, and this rack fit the bill perfectly.
It's very well constructed and took less than a half hour to mount the pieces to the wall and assemble.
I have no qualms about it falling apart or being at all unsafe.
The only improvement I would make is the two polygonal arms on each side of the tires have a very sharp, pointy front bottom corner and it would be nice if these could be rounded off, as if you are working below it and bash your head on one of these pointy corners you will do SERIOUS damage to yourself; a little pipe insulation taped to those corners solves the problem but it shouldn't be necessary.

This item was very poorly packaged. The first package looked like it had been opened before, and all the hardware was loose in the box. The box had been slightly damaged in transit allowing most of the hardware to fall out somewhere along the way. Amazon shipped a second replacement that was so damaged in transit that it didn't even make it to my house. So, more than three weeks after ordering it I still did not have a useable assembly. The install instructions gave direction to contact the manufacturer directly if there were any problems. I tried this option next, but they were completely unresponsive. Finally, not wanting to wait any longer, I went to the hardware store and found the needed fasteners. I will not buy anything else made by Hyloft.Customer Review: Great solution for tire storage

I have a supercharged 2007 Mustang GT that is drag raced in the summer months at our local dragstrips. I have a second set of wheels and tires specific to drag racing, and was getting really tired of them taking up floor space in my garage. Found this tire rack system first at a well known tire store's website, but then came to Amazon knowing I'd likely find it for a better price (which I did).
Shipping was prompt, product was easy to install, and the spare set of wheels and tires are safe, secure, and neatly off the floor. Definitely a must-have solution for anyone with extra wheels & tires for their vehicle. Racing tires, winter tires, etc.
