I just purchased the InSinkErator Essential Evolution waste disposer. It works wonderful. It has a larger 40 oz chamber so that you can grind a larger quantity of food at one time. It grinds the food quickly & quietly. It was very easy to install & even though the chamber is bigger,it is not bulky & does not take up much space.. This purchase was a replacement of my old waste disposer. the old one was also an InSinkErator & worked well for me for 16 years with no problems. This brand has earned my loyalty & I would recommend this product to anyone who needs a waste disposer!Customer Review: not thrilled

i replaced a worn out model#7, with this new unit, i agree it is super quiet, but what they don;t tell you is, if you have a sink with a thicker bottom, you need an adapter which costs an extra $80.00,the black "stopper" that you need to turn to start the disposer is nearly impossible to get right and engage the motor, plus it doesn't let water drain through it fast enough, especially when emptying a large pot--Lastly and most annoying is you have to push waste down into the unit with your hand, not something i like to do. 0h i miss my old #7.Customer Review: Quietly Effective

I bought this in part because of the low noise level touted in other reviews and it did not disappoint. It's incredibly quiet. The contractor who remodeled our kitchen thought it wasn't working when he first turned it on. The water from the faucet nearly covers the sound completely. Of course, anything would be an improvement over the old disposal, which sounded as though it would tear itself to pieces every time we used it. But this is just amazing.
And it does a great job of grinding up stuff too.

Just finished installing it. Thank you to everyone who reminded me to remove the dishwasher knock out...of course I came really close to forgetting. The job took about 45 minutes. This wasn't the first disposer I had to remove / install. It really wasn't that hard, mostly because I already had an existing collar that this disposer attached right to. It is quieter than my old unit, but not by much. If I experience any issues with it, I will update this post. But so far so good.Customer Review: this disposer made me do the happy dance

My husband installed this and after two hours of headache he realized he had a piece of pipe upside down. After that it was smooth! So installation aside, this disposer is AWESOME! After living in two homes with loud scary sounding disposers this is a dream! I literally danced with joy! My husband and I both have turned it on a few times just to hear how quiet it is. It is truly much quiter than a standard model.
