This "InSinkErator Evolution Excel 1.0 HP Household Food Waste Disposer" (i.e., garbage disposal) is an excellent and quiet beast. My wife and I replaced our old noisy, not-very-well-grinding disposal with this new one and are very pleased. Yes, it looks nice. And, no, it wasn't that hard to install. But, the big plus is that it grinds very well and is much, MUCH quieter than the previous disposal. It basically makes a humming noise no matter what you're grinding. I rate it at an Excellent 5 stars out of 5 and highly recommend it.Customer Review: FOOD WASTE DISPOSER

Product was easy to install, is very quiet and appears to do a good job grinding the waste. This disposer is much larger and heavier than the average unit, so do some measuring and planning before buying. I purchased this heavy duty unit because I have a septic tank sewer system and, based on my research, wanted a unit that would grind the waste as fine as possible, so that it would break down quickly.
Obviously, I will not know for a while, the impact of this unit on my septic system, but it appears to be an excellent product.

Our disposal finally died after several severe illnesses, and it was a blessing in disguise. I never thought about what kind of disposal it was or its power--just assumed it was a good one. When it came time to replace (after only 5 years of use), it made sense to pay a little more and get a high-powered one. What a difference! It eats up everything (although I'm pretty careful about what goes in) at 1/3 the noise level--definitely worth the price differential to me.Customer Review: I love this garbage disposal!

We moved into a new house and the previous one was for only a two person household and was very loud. 2 days after the warranty period was over it stopped working. I replaced it with this one and our family is so happy. We could hardly hear it at all and is works beautifully. I did have my husband help hold it up for me to install because it was too heavy to do it alone, but well worth every penny and effort. Thank you!Customer Review: Absolute Best

Replaced two Badger V units with one Essential and one Excel at the same time. Both are fantastic units but if you have the extra $ grab the Excel. The Excel is a little quieter with the downside being that the housing is larger. Extremely pleased with the performance of each. With running water you can barely tell when either unit is operational.
